Wellington: The Birth

A few weeks back I posted briefly about an amazing experience. It was my honor to be witness to and capture the birth of a Mr. Wellington Rupp. His parents are good friends of mine asked me to be their birth photographer, and was honestly a little scared. It was my first birth experience with camera in hand. I mean it was nothing short of amazing. The ladies at the Bella Vie Birth Center were wonderful, the whole room was so full of love. And to be there, the moment a little person came into the world, to capture it with my camera. Really, I have the best job in the world.

Here is a slideshow of some additional images. Clearly some shots will only be seen by Brian & Leah, but I wanted to show you all and give you some of the experience. 🙂

Bryan & Leah thank you so much for letting me be share in the birth of your child. It was an experience I will never forget. I love you too, and can not wait to see little W grow up, you two are amazing parents already.

I am so excited to offer this to other clients as well. I am completely hooked! Anyone thinking of birth photography please contact me, I would love to talk to you more about it.

Airplanes & puppies

If you are a blog reader of mine you might remember a certain adorable baby this time last year, and then a charming little dude this past winter. Well the S man is back, and literally more adorable than before, if that is possible. I met up with the Mr. S and his adorable family at a beautiful park in Lake Oswego for portraits and ended up having a great time laughing about a certain some-one’s obsession with airplanes and puppies.

Here are a few of my favorites from our day:

Such a big boy already!

Getting a little love from Mama. You can see where he got his beautiful smile.

Don’t be fooled he is not posing for me, he is checking out the “PUPPY!” behind me.

Gah that smile is killer!

And those sparkly eyes.

We even got Gran into the mix.

Clearly Grandma is well loved. 🙂

The park we used for the session had a beautiful little outlook over the river. Such a great spot.

We also got to do some fun reflection shots using the wading pool. Perfect on a hot night.

Is there anything better than a full on belly laugh?

And one more smile, gah he kills me.

Jessica and family, thanks again for meeting up with me and sharing your darling boy. He is still quite the charmer, I have just loved watching him grow! I hope you have enjoyed your sneak peek, I will have the whole gallery up very soon for you. Until then shall we have a little blog challenge? If you can get 30 people to comment on this blog post, I will throw in a darling little brag book on the house. So leave some love folks!

Welcome to the world Liam

I took these a few weeks back when I got the chance to visit Jamie & Will at the hospital shortly after the birth of the ever so adorable Liam. I shot his Newborn session earlier last week and want to share those very soon, but there is something about these that just make me smile. Thoes first few days in the hospital, when everything is so fresh and new. The reality has not hit, and this tiny little person is wham, the center of your universe. It is a magical feeling.

Here are a few shots from my quick visit.

Proper newborn photos to follow very soon.

Guess what I got to capture last night

It was my honor to witness & capture the birth of Wellington Rupp, very lucky son to the amazing Bryan & Leah Rupp.

I will do a whole post and slide show about the birth and what I captured sometime soon. I am still completely emotional and moved that I got to be a part of this amazing experience. Welcome to the world Welly, you are oh so loved.

Emery is one!

Just last week I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kristi, Robert and Emery at one of my favorite spots in the entire Portland area. McMinnaminns’ Edgefield is a fun place to hang, especially with an adorable One year old & her cute family. We had a lovely time walking the grounds and talking babies. You see miss Emery is not only just turning One, a huge deal, but she is also going to be a big sister this winter! Exciting stuff. Mom Kristi wanted to celebrate this fun time of life with a photo session in a fun place, of course I was thrilled to be the one to capture it.

Here are a few of my favorites from our time:

Miss Emery is so cute and full of personality!

She is also quite a family of her Daddy, check out the smooches here. 🙂

The whole family is lots of wiggly giggly fun, the wiggling was mostly on Emery’s part of course.

At Edgefield in one of the gardens we spotted a red door that Miss Emery fell in LOVE with. She could have spent hours opening and closing the thing. It cracked me up, but man we got some good smiles!

Check out that smile! This one might be my favorite of the whole lot. 🙂

The whole family got in on the red door action.

Miss E is also a fan of the puddles can you tell!

Again that cute smile kills me. Here is the birthday girl with her favorite blankie. I love her wiggly toes here.

Weeee!

And one last shot of the whole family. So cute.

Kristi & Robert thanks for having me along to “your spot” and sharing your darling girl with me. She was a joy to capture. I hope you love your sneak peek so far. I will have the whole set for you very soon! And of course as new clients I have to throw down the blog challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this little blog post I will throw in a cute little wallet brag book on the house! So leave some love people.
