Fall colors & fun!

Earlier this summer i had the pleasure of meeting two of the cutest boys under the sun. You remember these hansom brothers right?

Well this past weekend I got to not only hang with the boys again, but point my camera at the whole adorable family.  We had a lovely time running around the local gold course (in the approved areas only, not on the greens!) and adventuring up the road to find cool photo locations. Mama had her eye on one amazing spot, I love it when clients get excited about location scouting! Well the morning was perfect for us, for just over an hour, and then the heavens opened up and we had to run for cover. Still in that amount of time we got some great stuff!

Here are just a few of my favorites so far:

GreenePeek-100

You can why the boys are so adorable right, just look at this adorable family!

I loved that Jenifer the mom reminded me to take a few of just her and hubby. So many married couples (ahem including my self) have no just “couple” photos aside from thier wedding day. I just loved these two, a such sweet & fun Mom & Dad! Just look at the tickle fest that broke out.

BWset

You can tell these boys are well loved and doted on clearly. I just love all the silliness & smiles.

GreenePeek-117

another of our adorable Mom & Dad. Check out that sweet red barn. Jenifer scouted this one out and just had to take us there for some photos. Love it!

these boys kept me cracking up.

Little brother and his pretty mama. Can you tell where he gets his beautiful smile from.

GreenePeek-118

and this one might actually be my favorite from the day. Jen please tell me this melts your heart like it melts mine!

Jen & Doug thanks for having me out to capture your adorable family. You guys were a blast to run around with. I hope you love my little peek. I will have the whole gallery up very soon! And tis almost the season so how about another comment challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this blog post I will get you a family version of that cute little brag book to share with your friends and office mates. 🙂

The simply adorable D family

When Chrissie emailed me a few months back to schedule a session for her little family I have to admit I was excited. She not only has the most adorable little girl (that is right a girl! my first in ages) she is good friends with a simply lovely family you might remember on the blog not too long ago.  Well our weekend came and they delivered, little miss thing is one of the most adorable little girls so full of energy!

We had a wonderful time running around north-west Portland, and yes I mean running. Little miss can move! She kept me on my toes for sure, and I loved her infectious energy. 🙂

Anyway enough of my yammering, here are a few of my favorites so far:

DreellsPeek-102

Such an adorable family, you can so feel the love. 🙂

DreellsPeek-103

So much character with this one, I just loved her!

She was also quite the climber, her smile here kills me. She was so working the little kid semi fake smile the whole day. She kept us all in stitches with her super cute little face.

DreellsPeek-109

the whole family was just adorable.

and just one with out her signature smile. I love this serious face, she was so intent on climbing these stairs, I think she was mad I kept getting her attention. Her eyes are just killer here.

Chrissie & Dan thanks again for having me out to capture your adorable little family. Your girl is a stunner for sure. I will have much, much more for you very soon. And of course I have to rock the comment challenge, since that is how you all found me. If you can get 25 people to comment on this post, I will hook you all up with an adorable little brag book. Perfect for showing off your princess. Leave some love for this family folks!

the big question… what to wear?!

a few weeks before a photo session, I always get this question from clients. “What do we wear?!”. I admit it is a very important question. It seems silly, but the right outfit or set of outfits can completely make a session go from great to outstanding. I struggle with it my self! I had my own family photos done last night by a dear friend and college and spent most of the day shopping for the ever picky pink sized diva and her picky papa.

There are a million different ways to dress a family for holiday photos. Personally I prefer bright colors and lots of texture, but that suits my loud boisterous family.  When picking outfits you have to pick something that works for you and your family. If you want more formal photos that is great, if you are more comfortable in jean make it happen! Hello my family is a jeans family, I get wanting to be comfortable! So to help out I am featuring a little style guide put together initially by my friend Michelle.  As usually it is important for a family to coordinate, but not match exactly. Sorry no matching white polos with faded blue jeans, I veto that! 🙂 Having a similar color palette is really helpful. I think the color palettes & texture options would work on most any family.

I hope these help!

Accessories are always fun especially when they bring out kids personalities. I love scarves & cute tights in the set above!

and as always if you have questions just ask me! I am always happy to walk through options prior to a session. I think it is all of our goals to come out of a session looking our best, and clothes are just a part of that. 🙂

Baby N is back and cuter than ever!

Ok for real, he is!

When chatting with D, baby N’s mama before our second session she told me “watch out he has gotten even cuter!”.  You remember his off the charts cuteness last spring right?  Well I did not think it was possible, he had already stolen my heart. Well when they arrived to meet me for this falls session in NW Portland I was proven wrong.

crawlset

See he did get cuter, still not sure how that is possible. Surely not legal. At this rate I have no idea how we are going to top this for his one year photos!

full smile

his little toothy smile absolutely melts my heart.

BWfamilyset

The whole family was just adorable. Clearly this child is loved to bits.

Baby N’s little giggle is also completely infectious! He is thoroughly enjoying daddy’s tickles here.

Little dude is also a big fan of moving, and fast! He has my on the run anytime we did “alone” photos. He has this crawling thing down.

BWfambaordwalk

but as much as he likes going, he is happiest nestled into the arms of Mom & Dad.

Daddysmiles

I adore the daddy son interaction here.

Seriously this entire family is just a joy to hang out with.

Mom & Dad thanks again for having me out to see your little dude. It is so very fun to see him though the year as he grows. His smile melts me every time. Thanks also for your patience with getting the peek up! I hope these made it worth the wait. 🙂 What do you say, shall we do another comment challenge? If you can get 25 people to leave a comment here I will throw in a cute little wallet brag book for both mom & dad! Have fun! I will have the whole gallery for you very soon.

I heart warm summer nights with nice people

When Jamie (the mama) called me a few weeks back to inquire about a family session I knew instantly it was going to be a great session. She had done her homework and was familiar with my style and down for what ever it took to make a great session. She also loved the idea of running around a local nature preserve I had been eying for months to shoot. It was perfect, so when the night came up and the temperature was not too hot, or too cold I knew it would be a good night. Oh and it helps that the entire family is completely beautiful.

I meet up with this adorable family at the Tualitin River National Wildlive Refuge just before sunset, and we had a lovely time running around, picking blackberries, chasing grasshoppers.

I could do the longest post in the world with all of my favorites, but I will be good. Here are a few of my favs so far:

handsomboy

Meet the little dude, he completely stole my heart. He the cutest! He just turned 2 and is always on the go! He gave me a work out for sure keeping up with him, but so worth it for that smile.

MomandDad

Mom & Dad are also very sweet and hello adorable!

treefamily

We have lots of fun running around the reserve. They have some beautiful trails perfect for capturing that late summer warmth.

ALLBOY

Little dude is ALL BOY. I scored big points when I caught a grasshopper for him to check out. Gah look at that smile, so cute!

BWfamily

This one might be my favorite, their smiles are all real & playful.

mamaset

Little dude loves his mama!

berryfiend

and of course we got all those great little dude smiles with some delicious local blackberries! Yumm.

benchset

Ahh the whole family was just lovely.

sunsetfamily

Ok maybe I take it back, this one might be my favorite. I love the tender moments, and that little smile peeking out.

lastpeek

and one last shot before it was completely dark. 🙂 I love all the colors here.

Jamie I had an absolutely wonderful time with all of you! I will have the full gallery for you very soon. I look forward to next time already, and weddings, and babies and on and one! You guys rock.  And of course all my new clients get a little blog challenge special. If you can get 30 people to comment on this little blog post I will throw in a mini wallet album for both of you! So leave some love in the comment section folks!
