Brandin’s Beautiful Belly

Remember the sun? You know that thing that came out in the day and warmed us all up? Yeah, I remember that. Don’t get me wrong I love the lush green thing we having going on in Oregon, due to the massive rainfall. But sometimes, when I am editing a session from just a few weeks ago with delicious warm rays of sun I miss it a bit. *Sign*

This particular session I want to show off is from just one of those days. I met Brandin and her darling hubby Westly in one of my favorite state parks a few weeks back. She wanted to capture the current state of her beautiful belly, and I was happy to oblige. She is such a stunning pregnant mama! I also know for a fact that the babies in her family tend to be super adorable (check out her nephews here & here). We had a great time chatting about southern weddings, babies and cousins.

Here are a few of my favorites so far…

Brandin & Wes thanks again for meeting me out in the park, and for your flexibility. I am so happy we lucked into such a pretty late fall day to capture this special session. 🙂 I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek! I will have the whole set done shortly!

creative headshots

When I am not capturing fun weddings & beautiful babies I sometimes take on commercial & head shot clients. I tend to work best with creative types, and have some great sessions in the past you can check out here if you like. One of my most recent sessions was with a wonderful former wedding client. You might remember  Sarah & Mary’s wedding at the Rose Garden & Zoo just over 2 years ago. I had so much fun working with these ladies, it was my pleasure to capture Sarah again in her most recent business pursuit. Sarah is a musical therapist specializing in special needs kids. I am in awe of the work she does, and the  love she has for her clients. We got together recently to do some promo shots for her business Notable Connections. We did some of just her for her new site, along with a few inducing a cute little client. It was fun to capture her at work. 🙂

Here are a few of my favorites.

Sarah thanks for hiring me to capture this next chapter in your life. It was a pleasure to work with you again, and I wish you nothing but success in your business!

mark your calenders!

In my life time as a wedding photographer I have not done many wedding shows, just a handful. Lucky for me most have been a wonderful experience. I have enjoyed meeting new people, and setting displays covered with happy in love faces. I thought I was done for the year, but then recently I was asked to take part in a brand new show. “Say I Do for Us Too” is an amazing show happening in just a few short week. The show is specifically for LGBTQ couples planning  wedding in the NW, and actually a fund raster for Proposition 74 (the marriage equality act) in Washington State. I am honored to not only be taking part in the show, but be the main photography sponsor.

You can read more about the show on their site here. It is Sunday November 4th at the Vancouver Wa Hilton. It should be a really fun time, with some great vendors involved. I am really looking forward to it! If you want to come let me know and I will see if I can get any discounted tickets. 🙂

Alison & Erin are married!

Last year about this time I met up with Alison & Erin for engagement photos. I totally fell in love with these two that day. Their dynamic is so fun, loving and awesome to capture with a camera. Erin’s silly faces, Alison’s giggle, I just adore these two. So when the big day rolled around last month I was really looking forward to it.

The wedding was held at one of my favorite venues in NE Portland. Decorated to celebrate the couple’s love of the outdoors and combined with some traditional naval flags to honor Erin’s service for our country. You will also notice a certain “stuffed family heirloom” making an appearance in some of the photos. It’s a long story, but it made the night even more fun. Seeing the mixture of both of their out of town families, and in town friends was wonderful too. Clearly everyone was overjoyed for these ladies, and their love for each-other. It was hard to not just smile the entire day.

Venue: McMenamen’s Kennedy Schoold

Planning & Floral: Your Perfect Bride’s Maid

Alison’s Dress: David’s Bridal

Erin’s  suit: United States Navy

Delicious Doughnuts: Voodoo
