Charming Little Ottis

Look at this face, just look at it.

Gah this little guy did not really want to sleep for me, but man was he charming! He of course came with a house full of family that loved him, quite possibly the biggest dog in all of Portland, and a pair of baby blues that stole my heart.

I had a great time working with this sweet family, and loved meeting this sweet little man. I am so looking forward to seeing him grow up this year. Welcome to Portland little Ottis, we already love ya.

M&A thanks again for having me into your home to capture your family at this special time. Ottis was adorable, and I can not wait to watch him grow this year.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek! I will have the whole set done very soon.

Oh so pretty

Man it has been quite the baby boom around here! I love it, all the beautiful new life is such an honor to capture. It is the perfect way to spend a cold winter day.

But summer time, that is different. I do love a baby in the summer, don’t get me wrong, but I love spending my summer days photographing beautiful weddings.

This week I spent some time on a beautiful new sample album for the studio. Mary Elizabeth & Mathew got married this past August at the McMenamin’s Gearhart Hotel. It was a beautiful weekend. You can see the full post here.

Here are a couple of the album spreads I put together, i can not wait to see the whole thing in print!

You can see the full album in the studio of course. If you, or anyone you know is getting married this summer have them contact me asap! I still have a few weekends open on my calender, and can not wait to get out there again this summer!

Look who is back and even bigger!

It was just 6 months ago we welcomed darling little Addie to the world. Before that it was my pleasure to capture her Mama’s beautiful wedding and maternity photos. Well miss Addie is back and even more adorable! She is so full of personality these days. We had a great time playing around the house and taking a quick walk outside before the weather turned. I just adore her sweet little face, and super sweet Mamas. This whole family had my heart.

Check out the cute!

welcome to the world wally

I feel greatly honored to capture some really important times in my clients lives. Some times those moments are weddings, some times special family days. Sometimes those moments are silly, funny, and low key. Sometimes those moments are breathtakingly world changing. Each moment is important, but really important moments like the birth of a child take my breath away.

Recently I was asked to photograph a birth. It was a great privilege to capture these special moments, and witness sweet Wally coming into the world. From the first moments the team of mid-wives swept into the house to set it all up, to the appearance of his sweet face, to the last glow of family cuddles it was all amazing to witness. Here is a slideshow of the cold winter night Wally decided to join this beloved family.

I only take on a small number of births a year, but the times I do I am always left in wonder and awe. I am excited to add a few more this winter and spring if anyone is considering birth photography. Contact me via phone or email and we can talk about how birth photography might be for your family.

Kaitlyn + Aaron= love

So what do you do when your session get’s rained out? Usually we reschedule if we can, but if one half of the couple is leaving town and they are itching to order save the date cards, you improvise. 🙂

Here are just a few from my “save the date” session with Kaitlyn & Aaron. I adore these two, and can not wait for our full session, and of course big wedding this summer!

K&A thanks for coming in and trusting with my “creative ideas”. You two were so fun to hang out with. Looking forward to another session this spring, and meeting Cedric the greyhound of course!
