Jordana & Cooper: love

Cooper and Jordana make me smile…

They also make me crazy hungry….

Recently we spent a beautiful spring night on a very cool NE Portland street, talking weddings, jobs and FOOD. So much food talk people, and all of it good. These two have both worked in the portland food scene for a while, and have lots of great opinions. It was elightining, even for a wanna be foodie like me. 🙂

They are also sweet, kind, and crazy smart. I had so much fun with these guys.

Here are a few of my favs:

what to wear… the bump!

In the past I have talked about what to wear during sessions… so far I have covered engagement sessions and family sessions. Today I am back to cover one of my favorite kids of sessions to capture, maternity!PortlandMaternityPhotographer

Maternity is very similar to both family and engagements. We are usually outdoors, working with natural light and a variety of backdrops. The session is less about what you are wearing, and more about interactions between the people. 🙂 That said a well put together outfit can really add to a session. PortlandMaternityPhoto9

As always families or couples should coordinate but not be too “matchy matchy”.  I love color and patterns, just be mindful of your surroundings. If we are shooting at a super green park, don’t wear neon green, that is far too close to cammo.

Wear colors and outfits that pop, but do not get too distracting.

Also enhance the belly! Tight tops to show off the bump are great! Please no huge sweaters that hide the bump!

Also if you would like a more intimate session showing more skin you are comfortable showing in public, we can arrange time in the studio, or shoot at home. A woman’s body while pregnant is a beautiful thing, I would be happy to capture it for you!

And of course I am constantly pinning ideas on my pinterest board here!

I hope that helps, of course as always let me know if you have any questions at all!

Baby B is gettingBig!

About a year ago I got to meet a teeny tiny cutie. She was sweet and oh so sleepy for me that first session.

6 months ago I got to play with the whole family! baby B was a little hesitant but still very sweet.

Baby and Big sister A are back, and SO FUN to capture at the one year mark. This time both little cuties were sweet, funny, and so much fun to play with. We stayed in side this rainy day and just captured the girls at home. I adore these two. Even when hugs turn into wrestling, and they run away from me, I had a great time. 🙂

Here are a handful of favorites…

Rachel + Roland = love

I first met Rachel a few months ago when she, her wedding planner and I met to talk about her upcoming fall wedding. We laughed, we talked about puffy dresses and wedding cake, we had a great time. I was super excited when she wanted to book me for her big day. At our meeting we also talked about engagement photos. We wanted the photos be set in a place that was a good representation of her and Roland’s time off together. These two are smart, classy, playful and full of fun. We ended up settling on Langdon Farm’s Golf Club, and we had such a blast. Even if the grounds were a little soggy, and the skies kept threatening to rain, we had a great time. I loved capturing these two, they have a great energy together. They are quick to laugh and throw out a joke, my kind of folks!

Here are a few of our time together…
