Malcolm is one!

How did this happen?! Seems like just yesterday I was photographing his parents wedding and now this little dude is trying to walk & talk?! Wasn’t he just a newborn, and then a 6 month old little chubby drooler? Day by day Mr. M is growing in to a dashing young lad, and it has been my pleasure to capture him along the way. This time we met at the families neighborhood park and had fun with textured walls, cool murals and even a cool huge sculpture.

Check out a few of my favorites:

Em & Stephen thanks again for trusting me to capture your little guy growing up this year. It has been so fun to re-connect and see you all again. He is just darling, and so good for me always. I can’t wait to see him again as he get even bigger over the next year. You all are such a great family & parents, as always thanks for letting me point my big camera at you. 🙂

So you know the drill right? 30 comments = darling brag books on the house. Leave some love folks!

under construction, and loving it

When I first met with Marisa & Tim they were really not sold on the idea of an engagement session. I assured them of the importance of getting to know & working with your wedding photographer prior to the madness of the big day. I also said we could include any of their favorite hobbies & past times. They laughed and explained that all of their spare time (which is limited they are both young ambitious attorneys) was taken up with a large home improvement project. As most of us home owners know any time you start a project in the home, it takes 3 times as long and costs 3 times as much as originally planned. We all agreed it would be fun to start at their home and go ahead and capture this big part of their life. Again as a woman who also lives in a house under construction at all times I loved the challenge of documenting this time & their love among all the blue tape & paint. 🙂 From the house we took a walk through the neighborhood & down SE Hawthorne. It was a great night.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Marisa & Tim thanks again for taking some time out and meeting with me. I had a great time talking home improvement and chatting more with you both. Looking forward to your wedding in just a few short weeks! At this time I would love to offer you a blog comment challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in an 11×14 wall print on the house. Perfect for hanging on newly painted walls. 🙂

pretty girls + sparkly jewlry = fun photo shoot.

I know I say it all the time but I have amazingly talented colleagues. This time I want to brag  about my friend Mandalena of Mandalena Designs. Mand is super talented and tons of fun to work with. She has creativity in every inch of her, and lucky for all of us is comes out in stunning Jewelry form. We have worked together on a few shoots in the past,  the fairytail shoot at the Imago and the rural beauty shoot. Each time we chatted about doing something “more” in the future. Well a few weeks back that finally came to pass. Madalena had a high fashion big contrast style in mind. Not my normal look, but I was super excited to capture the little world she was creating. The day of the shoot was so fun too, she lined up some really great creatives to take part from hair & makeup, to wardrobe. It was my pleasure to be part of the team.

Check out a few of my favorite images from our shoot:

Mandalena thanks again for asking me to do this project with you. It was so fun to execute your vision. Your work is amazing as always! More soon!

paper poms and killer sunglasses

I knew from David & Rachel’s engagement session their wedding would be epic. Rachel & David have this thing you see. You can not help but have good and laugh around them. They exude so much joy & fun it is just infectious. Paper Poms & Cool Sunglasses was the theme of the day. Well not officially, but it just happened. You see when you make & fluff over 500 paper poms it just has to. Stephanie with Petalos did an amazing job making the venue just as colorful and fun as our lovely couple. The whole day was just full of love, joy & so much fun. We had a great time working with these guys, and capturing this amazing event.

Gah enough of my babbling, here are some of the vendors that made the day so fun:

Event Styling, Coordination & Floral: Petalos

Venue: McMenamins Edgefield

Hair & make up: Terrie Reece

Cup Cakes: Saint Cupcakes
Bride’s & Bridemaid’s dress: bridal/bridesmaid

Rachel & David thanks again for having me out to capture your big day. You guys were rad to capture, and fun to spend time with. I hope you had an amazing honeymoon. I hope you have enjoyed  the sneak peek! I will be done with the whole set here shortly. Friends & Family please let me know with a comment below if you would like access to the whole gallery when it is ready.
