childhood friends grow up

I do love watching client’s families grow up, it is one of the best parts of being a wedding/baby/family photographer. But this year I had that pleasure in reverse in a way. The Edwards & Guild families are old friends, very old. The kids of the family have played together for many years, and now have celebrated weddings, and even a birth. Kids grown up, move on, and move away, but these guys are all still close and as playful as ever. It was my pleasure to capture this group of old friends recently. We meet up one chilly morning while every one was in town and took a few photos. It was super fun to meet these guys (though I already knew Melissa, Mandy and Luca!) hear childhood stories and be a small part of making a new memory.

Here are a few peek images…

Kristina thanks again for organizing the day and meeting me out in the cold. It was great meeting you all, and capturing your families. I hope you all had a wonderful visit.

I will be done with the whole set soon!

thank you for a wonderful 2013!

I have been working on this post for days, and I am happy to say it is final ready!

2013 Was an amazing year here at Emily G Photography. Filled with new faces, a new website (!) new couples, new babies, and many back in front of the camera from years past. It was my pleasure to capture over 30 weddings, Over 40 newborns and over 45 families of all shapes and sizes. I  was honored to capture several wonderful businesses in action, a few visionary business owners and new some new commercial buildings/spaces. My work was published both online and in several magazines.  I was also greatly honored to capture the birth of some dear friends second child. it was such a pleasure to meet so many of you for the first time, and even more lovely to see SO MANY of you again this year. Watching new families start, and others grow is such a gift. It was a wonderful year for me both personally and professionally, and I want to thank you all for being such an important part of it. As my own little ones grow up so fast, and memories of my own wedding still get me misty eyed it is such an honor to be there to capture so many important moments in my client’s lives. Putting together a “best of” post made me smile, thank you all for that.

Here we go!

Again thank you all, and looking forward to an even better 2014!

oh man I love a good autum wedding

It’s been blisteringly cold this year, like crazy cold right?!

While I love watching the icicles form from inside my home with a good warm beverage being outside is another thing all together. I have toughed out and had the pleasure of capturing a few late fall sessions, with cute kiddos lucky for me my wedding season ended before the real cold starts. Wedding Photography is funny. Some years (like last year) I have tons of fall weddings, and some years I am more spring heavy. Lucky for me this year was a spring heavy year. 🙂

Thinking back to this time last year made me remember a sweet late Autumn wedding I captured here in the valley, it was a chilly day, but no ice and clear skies. One of my favorites for sure. I am putting together a book for the floral designer now, and thought I should share a few here. It was such a lovely one.

Just starting to book for next fall now! If you or anyone you know is getting married next spring, fall or summer now is the time to contact a photographer. My 2014 season is already starting to fill up. 🙂

Westervelt Family 2013

How cute are these kiddos! It is kinda crazy how adorable they are really. It seems like just the other day they were in the studio, as little babies. My how tie flies, they have both grown, and now they are both running around so fast! It was so fun to capture them again. And the whole family this year! We met up at one of my favorite local spots Red Ridge Farms. We played games, took photos and had a great chilly morning walk.

Here are a few of my favs!

Melinda thanks again for having me out to capture the family. It was lovely seeing you all again and meeting the hubby. I hope you enjoyed the peek! I will have the whole set done very soon. As you know I love a good blog contest. If you can get 30 people to leave a comment on this post I will throw in a set of brag books on the house. SO leave some love folks!
