    Popping in and out {emily g Portland Oregon Photographer}

    (my little red haired cookie monster mid giggle)

    Hello to all my wonderful clients and even you blog stalkers out there!

    This is just a quick post to let you know I have been a bit out of the communications loop in the last week. My computer contracted a particularly nasty virus and poor thing had to be wiped clean. This is the reason I back up all of my work to external hard drives and dvds the second I walk through my door after a shoot and again when I finish a gallery. Ahhh the joys of working in the digital age. So thanks to some amazing and computer geeky friends of mine I am back up and running full steam ahead. If you have emailed me in the last few days and not heard back I sincerely apologize. I am trying to catch up now, but you might just try again if you get the chance.

    I am taking off shortly for the Oregon coast to celebrate my fantastic father in law’s 60th birthday. And then home Sunday to shoot a super fun wedding. Busy busy summer around here. If anyone is still wanting to do photos this summer my schedule is starting to fill up, but I do have a bit more room. Contact me today.  I am still looking for a few fun new locations you know. I hope you all are enjoying the hot days and cool nights!

    xoxo em

    Location, Location, Location

    A little over a month ago I had the pleasure of attending a get together with some other Portland area Children’s Photographers. Fun ladies for sure. We all belong to the same photography forum and try to help each other our from time to time. I just love working with other photographers. I think it is the best way to learn and stretch my self as an artist to be surrounded by so many creative people.

    So in the beginning of June we trekked out to a random location one of the ladies knew of and took some really fun photos.

    This location is not your normal family setting. I just love all the graffiti and wild colors. I am pretty sure all the skater kids that usually rule the area thought we were all crazy taking our small children out there. But we are all geeks that love to find those out there crazy places, even if we do have to dodge skate boards and construction to get the shot.

    No really here are a few of me in action another photographer friend took of me.

    I am not sure if this is a location I would take a client to, as it is pretty rough but I do LOVE the non traditional. If you or someone you know is looking for some FUN and non traditional family or kids portraits call me soon. My summer schedule is starting to fill up, but I am always up for that next cool location. As a Family and Kids photographer in the Portland area I know there are even more great spots out there. If you have a great spot let me know! If it is really great I might even throw in a free 10×13 with a booked session to the client (new or returning) who lets me in on the secret. It does not have to be a graffiti covered wall, it can be a cool mural in a back ally, a building with some great stained glass, or even a over look of the perfect view of a city. So email or call me today, if I love the location it just might be the back drop of your next wall hanging! Happy location hunting!

    Over the top cute… {a sneak peek}

    Last week I was lucky enough to get an email from the J family. They are brand new to town and were looking for a Portland area children’s photographer. These photos are actually a gift for their dad’s birthday, how fun is that. I am going to have to send the good people at Google a batch of cookies for popping up my website into their search because man these kids are gorgeous.

    We had a great time tromping around one of my favorite local spots to take photos. The kids were super sweet and were even kind enough to laugh at my dumb jokes.

    They even showed up in some super fun rain boots, I absolutely love it when kids dress out side the box and show of their personality.

    These two had loads of personality I tell ya. This little man cracked me up

    Just look at those eyes and curls, a photographers dream.

    These two kiddos stole my heart for sure.

    Thanks for playing guys! Many more coming soon when the whole set is done.
    C thanks for driving over the big hill to meet me. I had a great time, I can not wait to show you the rest.
