and baby makes three

It seams like a million years ago I was shooting a certain wedding in the middle of a NW Oregon style summer monsoon. It was a day filled with many rain drops, but many more smiles. Anna & Matt’s wedding was rad, so I was thrilled to capture them again as their family went from two to three. Sweet Ellie was so good for me too! It was so fun catching up and meeting the little princess.

Here are a few of my favorites…

Anna & Matt thanks for having me into your home! It was a pleasure to meet little miss Ellie and capture you guys again. She was perfect, I look forward to seeing her grow. And I am so so happy for all of you. I hope you are enjoying the wonderful crazy that is having a newborn in the house! In between feedings and diaper changes if you are up for it you know I love me some blog challenges. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in a set of those darling little brag books on the house. So leave some love people!

Lan & Joel are married!

Lan & Joel kill me… While planning their wedding they wanted to include all of the things they love. Friends, family, beer, quirk, travel, art, food and fun. So of course the big day ended up here in the NW with a Portlandia theme! After working with Lan & Joel on their engagement session a few months back I was pretty excited for this day to come. I was not disappointed. Lan & Joel put together an amazing event, filled with perfect details and great energy. We had a great time the whole day, and loved meeting the entire crew.

Here are a few of my many favorites:

Venue: McMenamen’s Kennedy School

Her Dress: BHLDN

His Suit: Express

His Tie: The Tie Bar

Her Headband & Purse: Etsy

Flowers & Decor: Friends & Family

Pie: Random Order Bakery & Coffee

Lan & Joel thanks again for having me out to capture your big day. It was an absolutely wonderful day and my pleasure to point me big camera at. I hope you all had a great honeymoon, and safe travels. I should have the whole set done really soon. For now enjoy the sneak peek! Friends and family if you would like to see the whole gallery when it is ready please leave a comment below. I will send out the access details as soon as they are available.

PW is 6 months!

PW as she is know by her friends and fans is pretty much the coolest 6 month old around. She is already so cute, smart and of course wildly brilliant. Just ask her Daddy & Papa, she is perfect, and well I have to agree. We hung out a few weeks ago and had a grand time trying to crawl and eat grass, discussing the virtues of mashed bananas and tutus. Girlfriend has is going on and she knows it, my kinda girl.

It should also be said I love, love, love this family. The love I have for these guys started when the duo hired me to shoot their engagement session and big day. The whole thing was a whirl wind of fun. We also did a bump session last year, and of course a full blown newborn session when the little princess arrived. It really is my pleasure to capture such big milestones for this wonderful family. 🙂

Phoenix was grand to capture again as you can see…

Evan & Devin thanks again for having me out to capture your darling girl and family. I adore you guys, you know this, but that baby girl steals my heart every time. I am so happy for you guys and your wonderful family. And can you guys what is next?! Yes you can, el blog comment contest. You know how is goes, 30 comments = cute brag books of cute little baby girl photos. So leave some love folks!

Samantha + Gavin = Love

“Where shall we do the engagement shoot?” Is a constant running conversation around here. As I have said many times I really prefer to do engagement shoots with each of my wedding clients before their big day. It helps both me and the clients get used to shooting together before the stress and crazy of a wedding day hits. An important part of that process is the location.

I have two rules for choosing the location, one is pick something unlike your wedding location. We want variety in life right?! Second is choose someplace special to the two of you as a couple. A favorite bar or coffee shop? A neighborhood you used to frequent when first dating? Or even a beloved park or bookstore. Something personal always adds to the intimacy of the shoot. Some times we struggle with this, but sometimes couples know immediately what they want.

Samantha & Gavin hit the nail on the head when they suggested their own backyard. Over the last few years they have spent quite a bit of time and energy making their backyard into a beautiful green oasis. From the sweet table settings to the luscious garden the whole space was awesome to work in, and really brought out their identity as a couple.

We had a great time talking bugs, plants, crazy outdoor sleeping arrangements, and all things garden. It was a great time!

Here are a few of my many favorites from our shoot together…

Samantha & Gavin thanks for being such great hosts and for being so fun to capture. I really enjoyed spending some time with the two of you and checking out your wonderful home. I am so excited to capture your wedding day! For now I would love to offer you a bit of a blog contest. If you can get 30 people to comment on this  blog post I will throw in an 11×14 wall hanging on the house. So leave some love folks.

Hannah & Harper make me Happy

Who wants a huge load of cuteness this morning? Yep thought so! A few years back it was my pleasure to capture April & Brian’s beautiful wedding, and more recently their maternity session. Well the sweet couple has quickly turned into a family of four! They recently welcomed two darling girls into the mix, and they could not be more adorable. Hannah & Harper were so sweet to capture, and already asserting their personalities so much. It is always tricky working with twins, two feeding & sleeping schedules etc, but they were so lovely for me. I had a great time catching up, and meeting these two little princesses!

Here are a few of my many favorites…

April & Brian thank you again for having me out to capture your darling family. I am so thrilled for you guys. I hope you are enjoying the wonderful crazy that is having a newborn (or two!) in the house! In between feedings and diaper changes if you are up for it you know I love me some blog challenges. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in a set of those darling little brag books on the house. So leave some love people!
