This have been great, intense, lovely, dramatic and magical. We are all adjusting and loving the addition of our little man. I have been trying to balance resting for my own recovery and capturing every moment of it with my camera. Lets be honest, the naps have won out most days, but I do have some images to show of our first week, a few from the hospital and a few from home.

I also had the wonderful advantage of knowing a few amazing photographer friends who were great enough to come over and do Griffin’s official newborn session. I will post a few of those another time.

For now just a few snaps of my own of my growing little family.

8lbs 5oz, 20.5 inches born Wednesday February 24th at 12:30.

Lots of real (non cell phone) photos to follow, his silly mommy forgot to bring the card reader to the hospital.

But when you have known the bride since she was 4 years old, and the groom is nothing short of her price charming you just have to.

I could go on and one about how wonderful Jaime and William are, but I am about to pop out a baby so I will just show off some of my favorite photos from their big day instead.

The website “Switch Cities“  is run by an eclectic group of wedding photographers from all over the world. A few of them met in a photographer’s forum I used to regularly check into so I have been a fan for a little while. They do some great modern scenic work that is really inspirational to this girl who has little to no talent for landscapes. Well last month the Switch Cities twitter stream was all a flutter about an auction for Haiti, it started small, but soon grew into an amazing fun raiser! The end result of two different auctions was over 4K as far as I understand. These folks did some great work, and I was lucky enough to have the winning bid for an absolutely beautiful 16 x 24 canvas of Seattle by the lovely and talented Gabe of Gabriel Boone Photography.

We had been searching for the perfect print for our new dining room for some time, and the color was dead on with the warm grey I picked out. And of course it was for a great cause!

Piece by piece will will get this new place put together!

Some were helpful, some were dreadful. It seems in the last 8 years (gulp has it been that long!) so much has changed. The resources online are overwhelmingly amazing. As a wedding addict… err I mean vendor, I try and keep up and see what my couples are reading.

So I thought I would ask, what are your favorites?

I have a few local blogs & planning sites I love. I also adore it when former clients blog! And then there are they  national sites that have some pretty amazing visual and creative inspiration.

Then there are the review sites… I have posted previously on Yelp with great results (thank you lovely former & current clients!)

I also have a Wedding Wire page now, been working on this little page for a few months now. I have not recived any reviews on this page yet,  if you feel so inclined you could be the first!

So what do you love? What wedding blog or site gets your clicks? I am nosey, and I would love to know!

He came up to visit me in Newberg last weekend and we had a great time running around the George Fox campus. The same place in fact I did his Mom & Dad’s maternity photos a few years back!

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

such a hansom little man! I love his goofy faces too. Mama was very clear we had to capture the scrunched up nose.

I just adore this whole family. Such lovely folks!

seriously, his hair is just amazing. I also love his hazel eyes. The sun caught them just perfectly here.

J man loved the stairs too! Kept Mom & Dad running the whole session.

he was also stoked we let him go to town in the puddles. I loved his little dinosaur boots!

Julie & Vince thanks again for trekking all the way up to Newberg for our session. It was wonderful seeing you all again and hanging with your super cool little man. I also have to thank you again for the wicked cool baby gift. My little dude will proudly wear the converse when his feet get big enough (I will post photos, they hooked me up with the cutest baby shoes!). Well while digging through old files this week this one popped out at me.

Do you remember Anna & Matt’s super rainy & super amazing wedding at the Oregon Gardens in Silverton? I posted a sneak peek here and a full slideshow here.

It truly was one of my favorite weddings of the entire summer.  This photo is just one of the many moments I loved capturing.  While looking back makes me marvel about what an amazing year 2009 was, I am also so excited to see what 2010 brings. I am booking weddings & filling up the Summer & Fall calender fast these days.  So many cool new couples I can not wait to work with! If you or anyone you know is looking for a wedding photographer have them contact me ASAP. I will have to cut off my summer & fall bookings once I reach my max amount of weddings so now is the time to set it up.

So I keep hearing about this website www.yelp.com it is a 3rd party review site of local businesses and services.

Well I did some digging this week and totally have my self addicted! I have been reviewing restaurants and coffee shops in my area, as well as setting up an Emily G Photography YELP page.  If you are a current or former client please do feel free to yelp away and review! I have ridiculously rad clients. It is just that simple. I seem to end up working with wonderfully fun, creative, and stylish people. I am a lucky, lucky girl. One of the craftiness brides of 2009 was the one and only Emily P. Do you remember the amazing wedding, and hello LEGO cake topper! I loved every inch of their wedding.

Well Mrs. Price has a incredibly cute blog now, it is full of cute style bits,  recipes, and as luck would have it has been blogging about her wedding experience.  If any of my 2010 and beyond brides are reading this I would recommend adding PDX Cookie Jar to your blog readers. I am getting Em has some more great information out there for you soon enough!
