He was planning a very special moment, that he wanted photographed.  He was getting together a fun and creative way to propose to his longtime girlfriend. He had it all planned out, and had it all set up with friends & family waiting in the wings to help pull it off. I have to admit I was more than excited to capture it for him. It is not every day that you get to witness and capture a proposal!

So the day came along, and let me tell you the weather was not what you would call ideal. It was wet, rainy, and super windy. All that aside it was a magical moment. Seeing Alyson’s face when she figured out what was going on was priceless! I could go on and on about how fun this was, but lets get on to the photos shall we?!

Dustin & Alyson I am so happy for you two! I hope you had a magical day, and wish you nothing but the best in your lives together. It was my pleasure to capture your special moment, and I look forward to hearing more about the wedding. I know a pretty good wedding photographer when the time comes ;) . When we first met Amy said she had a clear vision of what she wanted but was having a hard time finding the right vendors to pull it all off. Imminently I knew Amy needed to meet my girl Stephanie of Petalos. Stephanie does floral & event design, but that really does not cover it. She has a super creative mind, and the know how to pull it off. She is an artist. After these two met I started getting all manner of pinterest links, styling boards, and excited voice-mails. Yeah, I knew it was going to be a good wedding. :)  

The big day was held at the Hotel DeLuxe, and every detail and moment went off seamlessly. Amy & Greg celebrated with friends and family into the new year. The flowers, the food, the favors, all so much fun.

Aside from the styled elements and details, (and man they were amazing!) the wedding was heartfelt and incredibly moving. Every detail from the officiate’s speech to the kiss at midnight made me so darn happy to spend my new years with this special couple. I loved getting to know their entire family and loving groups of friends. It was an amazing day, and I am so excited to share it with all of you!

Amy & Greg thank you again for having us out to capture your amazing wedding. It really was my pleasure to point my camera at you two again. From the first moments of getting ready, to the last kiss of the night it was an amazing day. I truly loved getting to know all of your friends and family. Weddings like yours remind me how much I love my job, and make me even more excited for all 2012 holds. I am so happy for you two, wish you all the joy in the world and much love in your life together. I hope you are loving your sneak peek. I have SO many more for you when the whole gallery is done. I love it when I get the opportunity to see kids get bigger and families grow in front of my lens. This session was to celebrate Mr Evan turning one, my what a year it has been! You may remember a certain adorable big sister from her own first year session, and then a sweet little newborn this time last year. These kids are silly, smart, lovely, and always full of energy! Evan & Emery kept me on my toes for this session, made me work for each smile, but it was all worth it!

Kristi thanks for meeting me in town at the studio! It was great to see you all again, and play with the kids again. I can not believe your sweet little newborn baby is now a BOY! It was so fun to see the kids together. As you know I am a lover of all things blog contest. It has taken a few days as my NYE was spent capturing an amazing wedding, and the following day was spent recouping & catching up on sleep & email.

So today it was time to take a look back on 2011. It was such an amazing year. So many people came in front of my lens, and it really was my honor to capture so many weddings, couples, babies and families. Plus quite a few head-shots, non-profit events and even a bridal show.We  added in a studio space early in the year, and even changed logos and looks this year.

It really was just a fantastic year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your love ans support for emily g photography. This business really is an extension of my self and my family, and all of you friends, family and clients help me do what I love. THANK YOU!

Here are my favorites for 2011. I tried to pull at least one photo from each session. I hope I did not miss anyone!

I know we are still packing up holiday decorations, and thinking about NYE plans, but now is the time to start thinking about Valentines Day…

yet again this year I will be doing a pre-valentines day boudoir event. The date I am holding as of now is Saturday January 28th, if needed I may add in the Friday prior or add another weekend if it books up… so let me know now if you are interested!
