The shop is always amazing, but the glamor was extra special this weekend with the Lazaro Trunk show in town. I was asked to come in and capture some of the show, and assist soon to be brides with photos of them in their wedding dress options. It really was such a fun time. I mean really, what is more fun thank trying on glamorous wedding dresses?! The show was a busy one, and the AniA staff was extra busy, but we all had a great time, and met some beautiful brides.

When we first met Amy said she had a clear vision of what she wanted but was having a hard time finding the right vendors to pull it all off. Imminently I knew Amy needed to meet my girl Stephanie of Petalos. Stephanie does floral & event design, but that really does not cover it. She has a super creative mind, and the know how to pull it off. She is an artist. After these two met I started getting all manner of pinterest links, styling boards, and excited voice-mails. Yeah, I knew it was going to be a good wedding. :)  

The big day was held at the Hotel DeLuxe, and every detail and moment went off seamlessly. Amy & Greg celebrated with friends and family into the new year. The flowers, the food, the favors, all so much fun.

Aside from the styled elements and details, (and man they were amazing!) the wedding was heartfelt and incredibly moving. Every detail from the officiate’s speech to the kiss at midnight made me so darn happy to spend my new years with this special couple. I loved getting to know their entire family and loving groups of friends. It was an amazing day, and I am so excited to share it with all of you!

Amy & Greg thank you again for having us out to capture your amazing wedding. It really was my pleasure to point my camera at you two again. From the first moments of getting ready, to the last kiss of the night it was an amazing day. I truly loved getting to know all of your friends and family. Weddings like yours remind me how much I love my job, and make me even more excited for all 2012 holds. I am so happy for you two, wish you all the joy in the world and much love in your life together. I hope you are loving your sneak peek. I have SO many more for you when the whole gallery is done. It has taken a few days as my NYE was spent capturing an amazing wedding, and the following day was spent recouping & catching up on sleep & email.

So today it was time to take a look back on 2011. It was such an amazing year. So many people came in front of my lens, and it really was my honor to capture so many weddings, couples, babies and families. Plus quite a few head-shots, non-profit events and even a bridal show.We  added in a studio space early in the year, and even changed logos and looks this year.

It really was just a fantastic year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your love ans support for emily g photography. This business really is an extension of my self and my family, and all of you friends, family and clients help me do what I love. THANK YOU!

Here are my favorites for 2011. I tried to pull at least one photo from each session. I hope I did not miss anyone!

Right now I am working on a maternity session from just a few weeks back. The lovely expecting mama was one of my bride’s this summer and is just as stunning as she was on her wedding day. I just adored working with these two again.

The album process is really a team effort. It is really important to me that the couple really loves and has final approval over an album design before it goes to print. The images inside are my work, but really it is the couple that will share this book with their kids & grand-kids. For that reason some times an album can take a few months to finalize. April & Brian got married back in warm sunny July. It was a stunning day at the Camas Meadows Country Club. Their wedding was filled with love, emotion, great friends and a tight-knit family. I had an amazing time capturing their day, and even more fun reliving it through the album design process. I am so proud of the resulting book. It came in today and looks amazing! I almost don’t want to give it up. ;) But of course today it will go to the post office and on to the happy couple. April & Brian thanks again for having me out to capture your day. It really was my pleasure to point my camera at you! I have loved working with you two, and wish you all the happiness in the wold.

When they booked me Jodi was living in Oklahoma for work and Kent was living in Portland. We did all of our talking, details and contracting via calls, email and post, but I still really got to know these two in all of the planning. I loved that Jodi made extra effort to share their story, and lots of details about them. When we finally got together this fall for their engagement session & wedding it was hanging out with old friends.

The love these two share is so warm and sweet, it really was my pleasure to have them in front of my camera. I had a wonderful time capturing their wedding day especially. The big event was really all about their love and celebrating family & friends. The wedding was held at the beautiful University of Portland campus. I have only been to the campus a few times, so Kent guided us to some beautiful spots on site. All in all it was an amazing day. I should thanks my wonderful second shooter as well. Elisha took some of the photos you see below. I especially love the external shots of the grounds at night she captured.
