    Marriage Equality in Washington State

I am thrilled to hear Ballot Measure 74 (Marriage Equality in Washington State) has passed. What a momentous time in our country! I said it yesterday on my business facebook page, but I wanted to say it here too. To any of my wonderful previous clients, I am so thrilled for you all and what this means for your families. If any of my Oregon couples decided to hop across the river to make it legal I would be happy to (If my schedule allows) capture it with my camera at no cost to you. Please let me know if you would like to talk dates & times once it is all in place.

    Alison & Erin are married!

Last year about this time I met up with Alison & Erin for engagement photos. I totally fell in love with these two that day. Their dynamic is so fun, loving and awesome to capture with a camera. Erin’s silly faces, Alison’s giggle, I just adore these two. So when the big day rolled around last month I was really looking forward to it.

The wedding was held at one of my favorite venues in NE Portland. Decorated to celebrate the couple’s love of the outdoors and combined with some traditional naval flags to honor Erin’s service for our country. You will also notice a certain “stuffed family heirloom” making an appearance in some of the photos. It’s a long story, but it made the night even more fun. Seeing the mixture of both of their out of town families, and in town friends was wonderful too. Clearly everyone was overjoyed for these ladies, and their love for each-other. It was hard to not just smile the entire day.

    Venue: McMenamen’s Kennedy Schoold

Planning & Floral: Your Perfect Bride’s Maid

    Alison’s Dress: David’s Bridal

    Erin’s  suit: United States Navy

    Delicious Doughnuts: Voodoo

    Rachelle & Courtney are married!

There is no doubt about it, I adore Rachelle & Courtney.

You might remember two from their super fun engagement session last year. Since then I have had a ton of fun getting to know these two. They are truly two beautiful  ladies inside & out. They brought fun, joy, entertainment, and love to every inch of their wedding planning. When the big day finally came around  a few weeks ago. and it was nothing short of magical. Being that these two met in the acapella music scene it was only fitting the day was extremely musical as well. I kind of felt like I scored a ticket to a really amazing show during the reception. So many talented people in one room, celebrating the best thing of all, love.

There was so much joy that day, from Courtney’s face when she saw Rachelle for the first time, to Rachelle’s sparkling smile  matching the end of the night fireworks. I had so much fun at this one, I think I smiled the entire way home

Here are a few of my many favorites from the day…

    Amber & Laurel: the wedding!

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of capturing Amber & Laurels lovely afternoon wedding. It was a warm, but sweet day. The wedding & reception at one of my favorite places in the world Champoege State Park. Amber & Laurel are history lovers, and chose this historical site because of it important in Oregon history & and its beautiful green setting. Their friends & family did a wonderful job making the ceremony & reception site beautiful and personal. All the little woodland creature details were just adorable.  The food, the flowers, everything was lovely. Even Merlin the doggy was on best behavior! The ceremony was also extremely moving, perfectly showcasing the love that these two ladies share. I had such a great time capturing this one.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day…
