Just over a week ago I got an email from a very excited guy named Dustin. He was planning a very special moment, that he wanted photographed. He was getting together a fun and creative way to propose to his longtime girlfriend. He had it all planned out, and had it all set up with friends & family waiting in the wings to help pull it off. I have to admit I was more than excited to capture it for him. It is not every day that you get to witness and capture a proposal!

So the day came along, and let me tell you the weather was not what you would call ideal. It was wet, rainy, and super windy. All that aside it was a magical moment. Seeing Alyson’s face when she figured out what was going on was priceless! I could go on and on about how fun this was, but lets get on to the photos shall we?!

Dustin & Alyson I am so happy for you two! I hope you had a magical day, and wish you nothing but the best in your lives together. It was my pleasure to capture your special moment, and I look forward to hearing more about the wedding. I know a pretty good wedding photographer when the time comes . I hope you enjoyed reliving the special moment! I will have the whole set done for you shortly.

As always I have been working on a year end post. It has taken a few days as my NYE was spent capturing an amazing wedding, and the following day was spent recouping & catching up on sleep & email.

So today it was time to take a look back on 2011. It was such an amazing year. So many people came in front of my lens, and it really was my honor to capture so many weddings, couples, babies and families. Plus quite a few head-shots, non-profit events and even a bridal show.We added in a studio space early in the year, and even changed logos and looks this year.

It really was just a fantastic year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your love ans support for emily g photography. This business really is an extension of my self and my family, and all of you friends, family and clients help me do what I love. THANK YOU!

Here are my favorites for 2011. I tried to pull at least one photo from each session. I hope I did not miss anyone!

M&M were married in the summer of 2009. It was my pleasure to capture them on their big day, and it was my honor to capture them again this winter as they went from a happy couple to sweet little family of three. I think we were all excited about the addition of sweet Adelyn! She is adorable, sweet and above all so very loved. I just love it when wedding clients call or email to tell me they are expanding their families. For me shooting a wedding is all about telling the story of a couple and their special day. Capturing them again when they have little ones in the mix is just the next chapter of that story.

what are the odds

What are the odds, that two set of twin boys would be born with in just weeks of each-other and end up neighbors? Both sets are very loved little miracles. Both sets are silly, cute boys. Both sets have a bigger calmer brother, and a slightly smaller more bold brother. Really what are the odds! The first set of twins happen to be my nephews, so when their neighbors called to schedule a session before the holidays I jumped at the chance. We had a lovely time chatting about baby boys, playing with the little guys and taking some fun photos.

the best holiday gift one can get…

Sweet Cecilia was 3 weeks old when we got together for our session. Slightly older than I like for a newborn session, but this sweet little girl was perfect for me. She sleep like an angel, and even smiled for me a bit. You can tell she is very loved and comfy in her new world. Being that she was born so close to the holidays, we had to work in some festive shots. Here mom and dad clearly adore this little lady, it was my pleasure to point my camera at this little family.

Cute Calder

I had only met one Calder before this little guy. He was also charming, and had a great smile, but this little guy officially wins for cutest Calder. Sorry Lilly, but come on look at this little guy. He was sweet, funny and let me into his little world for our photo playdate. Calder’s entire family was wonderful to work with, and let me into their home like we were old friends. I had a great time with them all. From checking out the garden to walking down to the local store for a snack. It was a lovely morning.

What is better than photographing wonderful people? How about photographing wonderful people, that happen to be super good looking, in the fall leaves… yeah that pretty much rocks.

Rob & Danielle, thanks so much for scouting out such a beautiful location! It was really great to meet you all. I am totally jealous of your NYC photographer that gets to capture your wedding back home in New York! I am sure it will be amazing! I hope you are having a great time starting your new life together in Oregon, and settling in around here. I am so happy to have met you both.
