a quick peek of what will soon be a full gallery.

Aimee + Dan = over the top wedding greatness.

You remember the incredibly wonderful and adorable Aimee & Dan from a last month right?  Well a few short weeks ago Aimee & Dan tied the knot, and man did they do it in style. I had an absolutely wonderful time capturing every little detail. These two put on a wonderful event! Even when things ran late and we had a little time crunch I had a great time just laughing with them. I also loved meeting many, many wonderful family members & friends. Seriously these people know how to throw a party! The day was also made even more lovely by the addition of my partner in crime/ 2nd shooter for the day the always fantastic Mr. Kip Beelman of Seattle. Some of the images you see below are thanks to his talent & lens! Thanks again Kip for all the help!

    AimDanWedPeek

We Started in SE Portland at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, a beautiful building! I hope we did not freak out the father too much by hanging Aimee’s stunning dress on his door!

    AimDanWedPeek (1)

Aimme was an amazing bride to work with. So beautiful and fun, seriously Aimee you looked amazing.

    AimDanWedPeek (2)

Dan was also quite the dapper fellow.

    AimDanWedPeek (3)

    AimDanWedPeek (4)

see what I mean, dapper right.

    AimDanWedPeek (5)

And of course our first look was fantastic. While Dan brought the dapper gentleman vibe, miss Aimee brought the va-va voom! I am pretty sure Dan lost his breath for a few moments there seeing his bride all dressed for the first time.

    AimDanWedPeek (6)

see what I mean, he could not take his eyes off her. I love this set here for a few reasons, you get the beautiful full wide shot and the close up view of the same moment.  How we pulled it off is I am out front and Kip is getting all ninja in the greenery to capture the shot on the right. This is one of the many reasons I love having a second shooter along for weddings. It is always nice to have different views of the same day to get a real variety of creative moments.

    AimDanWedPeek (7)

    :)

    AimDanWedPeek (8)

I just adore Aimee’s smile here.

    AimDanWedPeek (9)

We also found this amazing orange wall/garage door in the neighborhood. Just too perfect not to use, especially when orange was in the wedding color palette! Too perfect.

    AimDanWedPeek (10)

they are just so lovely together these two.

    AimDanWedPeek (11)

check out our entire wedding party here, seriously fun folks!

    AimDanWedPeek (13)

after portraits we made our way back to the church for the big event.

    AimDanWedPeek (14)

The chapel was set up beautifully, I loved Aimee’s stunning flower choices. Check out these unique arrangements.

    AimDanWedPeek (15)

Aimee looked nothing short of amazing walking down the isle.

    AimDanWedPeek (16)

the ceremony was beautiful and very moving.

    AimDanWedPeek (17)

I just loved being able to capture all the special moments.

After the ceremony and some family photos we took a short drive to the most fantastic reception venue. A converted warehouse owned by a wonderful family member of Dan’s. Seriously this place was amazing. Every little corner was bubbling with character.

    AimDanWedPeek (18)

    Yeah pretty much amazing right!

    AimDanWedPeek (19)

Doing more ring shots was so fun, every corner had a classic car or fun antique to incorporate.

    AimDanWedPeek (20)

Check out Kip the ring shot master at work, and the rad result on the right. 100% Raddness.

    AimDanWedPeek (21)

Everyone had a wonderful time at the reception, you could tell. Lots of dancing and smiles all around.

    AimDanWedPeek (22)

We even had some mini pool sharks out and about.

    AimDanWedPeek (23)

Like I said these folks know how to throw a party, we had a great time roaming around the place snapping away.

    AimDanWedPeek (24)

and one last set with some of that amazing color the place was popping with. I could not get enough of these vintage cars!

Aimee & Dan thanks again for having me out to capture your big day. I really truely loved spending time with both of your amazing families & fun friends. You all know how to throw a great event! I am so glad it all worked out so well and I could be the one to capture it for you! I will have the whole gallery very soon for sure! These have been lots of fun to edit so far. Friends or family reading this please do leave a comment below if you would like to be notified when the whole gallery is ready!

worth the wait: the sneak peek of Emily & Stephen

Emily & Stephen are fabulous in every way. They are sweet, kind, welcoming, adorable, and wickedly funny. They also put on an amazing wedding. I really could make this the longest post in the world with all the details of their wedding, they had a lego cake topper, need I say more?! But the reception details will have to wait. For now I want to share the first part of their day, we had SO much fun tromping around McMinnamin’s Kennedy School in NE Portland.

We laughed, we smooched (ok they smooched) and we took some fun photos.

I hope it is worth the wait guys!

    EmStephPeek001

Emily’s dress & details were so fun. I loved the vintage flair to it all!

    EmStephPeek002

Stephen is so ridiculously fun. In case you can not read the upper right hand pic, that would read “Steve + Emily + Mr. T”

    EmStephPeek003

Emily’s girls took great care of her. Her hair & make up were impeccable. :)

    EmStephPeek005

Emily & Stephen were so cute together. You can tell all the anticipation was worth it. I love everything about them together, even down to the crinkled noses!

    EmStephPeek004

The Kennedy School had some great locations in side and out. :)

    EmStephPeek006

    :)

    EmStephPeek012

    the cuteness.

    EmStephPeek007

This crazy pipe stairway might be my favorite of all locations.

    EmStephPeek008

The whole wedding party was absolutely wonderful.

    EmStephPeek009

Gah these two are so cute together! I just loved everything about their day.

    EmStephPeek010

The girls were always laughing and keeping Emily smiling. So much fun to shoot.

    EmStephPeek011

And of course with this venue I just had to do some funky vintage treatments. These kind of echoed some of the old photos on the walls.

    EmStephPeek013

Much much more to come folks, I mean there was a Lego cake topper, how can in not blog that. Much more soon. Em & Steve, thanks again so much for having me be a part of your day. I had a wonderful time capturing your amazing day. As always friends & family if you are reading this and you want notification of the full gallery being ready please do leave a comment below.

Imperfect Perfection: the wedding of megan & patrick

Megan and Patrick’s wedding was lovingly different in oh so many ways. For starters they decided to to tie the knot on a beautiful September Thursday evening. They choose McMinnamin’s Edgefield because not only was it beautiful they loved the historical significance of the place. When I met up with them on the big day their rooms were not ready, so they were having a laid back lunch with friends in the pub together. Not ones for lots of traditions the whole seeing each other before the wedding thing took a back seat to having a nice time with friends & family. Spending the day with these two was pretty much awesome.

Every little detail was just how Megan wanted, “perfectly imperfect”. I think she said that about the bows on the flowers, but I thought it was so fitting for the day. If the rooms were ready late, so great time for a lunch with friends. That is just how the day went, these two were there to have a lovely event, and they did.

I could go on, and on about great Megan & Patrick were, and how fun their day was, but really lets get to the photos! I think they will speak for them selves.

    MPpeek01

Megan had such great details. From her beautiful peach colored dress, to the amazing pearls made by a friend, it was all unique and elegant.

    MPpeek02

Megan also has some awesome friends who hooked up the hair and make up.

    MPpeek03

Patrick was also had some pretty cool details. I dug the boating shoes. :)

    himeprep

Patrick was also cool and calm, these two were the most laid back couple.

    MPpeek04

The whole energy in Megan’s room was so calm but full of joy, I just love her mom & grandma’s face seeing her all dressed up. These women are all soo wonderful, I loved seeing their bond.

    MPpeek05

this might be my favorite photo of Megan from the entire day, I just love her smile here.

    MPpeek06

our first look set up was fun, I could tell these two were happy to be back together and start the celebration.

    MPpeek07

We did a lot of laughing during our time together.

    MPpeek08

I loved shooting them together, they were so sweet and chill.

    MPpeek09

Edgefield was also a great place to shoot, even the garden shed was a lovely backdrop.

    MPpeek10

This image while it was suppose to be romantic completely cracks me up. The thing is when even I asked Megan & Patrick to get “nose to nose” they would start laughing, I had no idea why, well finally they told me. While I was trying to be romantic, apparently if their faces were that close it was all blurry.  Duh, well from then on I just asked them to “get blurry”!

    MPpeek11

I love all the colors of the day, fresh and beautiful.

    MPpeek12

We had a lot of laughter can you tell.

    MPpeek13

    :)

Once were done with the portraits we made our way to the most important part of the day, the ceremony.

    MPpeek14

The whole ceremony was beautiful and moving. Their officiant (and a personal friend of mine) Sally did a wonderful job. I have to admit even I got a little teary. It was short, sweet and incredibly moving.

    MPpeek15

While the happy couple enjoyed their party and the delicious spread I had a little fun with their rings. Like I said Edgefield is an amazing place to shoot.

    MPpeek16

The best part of the reception though really had to be the dancing. Megan, Patrick and their friends were so fun! I could do an entire post of just dancing photos!

    MPpeek19

    MPpeek18

Like I said, fun fun folks.

    MPpeek20

and one last photo of our happy couple. We got a chance to take a little walk at sunset.

Megan & Patrick, thanks again for having me out to be a part of your special day. I truly loved capturing it for the two of you. I will have much, much more for you tow very soon! Any friends and family checking out the peek please do leave me a comment below and I will be sure to send you the log in, information as soon as it is ready.

    love all the way around

Aimee contacted me just a few months back inquiring about wedding photography. I happily sent her my information packet and went along my merry way. When just a few short weeks ago she emailed again saying she was getting married and wanted to meet & book me I have to say I was a little excited. While I adore getting to know my wonderful clients over long periods of time, it is also very exciting to get a last moment booking! It pumps the adrenaline and gets you started for the mad dash of learning as much as you can about the couple & event before the big day. We are still just a couple weeks off from the big wedding, but this last weekend I met up with Aimee, Dan and Aimee’s adorable little boy for an engagement/family combo session.

I loved taking them to the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and capturing some fun images of this adorable couple and little family. The way Dan & Aimee look at each other is adorable, but the way they both look little dude is just heart melting. :) I can not wait to capture images of their big day! But for now here is a sneak peek of our session along the river.

    warmsetpeekAimee2

check out “E” such a little charmer, he is 5 and full of energy!

    Aimeetripytchbigfieldpeek

Yep these three have lots of fun together!

    AimeeDanLove-108 BW

Aimee & Dan are also incredibly sweet on their own.

    wallset

The way Dan looks at his beautiful future wife is pretty darn sweet.

    AimeeDanLove-111

And the opposite side of that is I got the best smiles out of Aimee when she was looking at her man.

So looking at these two cute love birds you might be wondering, where is the little man during all this smooching?

    ourlittlefriend

Mr. E made a little furry friend! I love the smile on his face, he was o into the little fuzzy guy.

    smileycouple

    :)

    PeekAimee1

This one might be my favorite of our lovely couple. I love Aimee’s huge smile, you can not help but smile back!

    kiddoset

Another adorable smile belongs to this silly boy. Such a ham!

    BWsettrees

One last set of the lovely couple.

    AimeeDanLove-134

And one last one of the cute little family.

Aimee & Dan I am so looking forward to your big day in just a few short weeks! I am excited about all the rad details you have planned, but mostly about seeing you three again. I had a wonderful time with you guys, little Mr. E charmed my socks off, such a great kiddo. I hope you enjoy your little sneak peek. I will have the whole gallery up for you very soon. And of course as new clients I have to hook up the comment challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in a 11×14 on me of your favorite from the set! So leave some love people!
