    a little peek of a brand new family session

    Wilsonville Oregon Family Portraits {fun family sneak peek}

    Last weekend I had the pleasure of hanging out with some family members and taking some holiday photos for them. M & D own a commercial nursery and I have been itching to shoot there, talk about great light to shoot in. They also have two of the cutest soon to be 5 year olds I know. If you have seen my daughter make a silly face odds are one of these two taught her how. These guys were such hams for the camera!

    We also did some shooting up at their house. I had a great time putting people I know so well in front of my lens. It’s funny it is just a piece of metal and glass, but it changes the way you look at people.

    So here are a few of my favorites so far:

    Hmm does he remind you of a particular peanuts character? He loves his blankie, so cute.

    Mr T here was all smiles for me. And so photogenic with those sparkly eyes.

    Such a ham! He had me cracking up the whole time.

    Silly boys :)

    They don’t grow like weeds in this family, they grow like perennials. ;)

    These two also love their great uncle, one of the men responsible for this great green house.

    M & D I had a great time with you all! I hope you like some of what we got.

    I will have the full set up for you very soon!

    a nurse and a fire fighter get married…

    Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke right? No joke here, just the results of  a wicked fun wedding. I had the pleasure of working with the super talented and over the top fun Kacy Jo for this one. I know I have said it before, but working with other photographers is always fun for me. There are a million ways to shoot a wedding, and it is always fun to see other photographers in their “zone”. Kacy is a riot, and this particular couple Marie & Jeff had us on our toes and laughing all day.

    Ok I will stop talking, look here are a few (too many!) of my favorites from the day.

    It was crazy hot that day, but they made it work. I love Marie’s expressions here, she cracked me up.

    Check out that dip! Jeff & Marie did this great choreographed first dance, it was so cool!

    And of course the “father daughter dance” had me tearing up, I am such a sap for that stuff. These two are super close so I know it was an important moment for them, and Dad can dance!

    Jeff & Marie also did this great dance to honor all the couples who had been married for many years. The couple who had been married the longest went home with a lovely gift, it was very sweet.

    And anyone who has ever read this blog before knows I am a sucker for cute kids dancing at receptions. This one had no shortage of cute little ones. And these boys and girls had some mad dance skills. I was impressed!

    And the “small girl with the big camera” herself ms Kacy Jo. Thanks for asking me to come help out! I had a great time even in the crazy hot weather.

    All grown up! {S family sneak peek}

    I got a email inquiry last month that made me smile.  Kimberly emailed asking if I could do photos of her and her college age brother and their dog as a special holiday surprise for their parents. It had been many years since their family had been professionally photographed and there were none really reflecting the adults they had grown into. She wanted to give their parents something she knows they would love, and I thought it was an awesome idea. I know when I slip my mother in law a photo of my husband she adores it. Kids may grow up, but they are always someones baby right! I also loved that they included their parents dog too, because you know when the kids move out the dogs often become the new baby of the family!

    Well despite the sporadic rain we met this weekend to do a full session, cute dog and all. We tromped all over the George Fox University campus and did our best to have fun and capture some great fall colors. Here are a few of my favorites so far!

    Isn’t Candy adorable! Such a sweet old girl.

    It was so fun to have a big sister/little brother on hand to get some real laughs and smiles out of these two. :)

    They even threw in some OSU pride in the shoot. Something that is apparently still very important to the parents. Go Beavers! (wait I am a PSU Viking I can’t say that!)

    Kimberly & Scott I had a great time meeting both of you, Thanks for being flexible with the crazy Oregon weather. You two are hilarious together, you made the dreary afternoon lots of fun, and of course Candy! I am sure she was wiped out for hours after so much activity. I will have the rest of the set for you very soon.

    And because it is the holiday season lets do another comment challenge! Kim & Scott if you can get 30 people to comment on this blog post I will give you a $25 print credit towards one of the coffee table style books you guys liked! Happy commenting!

    Look who is 6 months old! {sweet baby sneak peek, salem oregon photography}

    You might remember this amazing little man from back in the Red Wagon days.  If you have been around for a while you might even remember his Mama’s beautiful belly. Well sweet baby J is now 6 months old so it was high time to get him in front of my camera again. My how he has grown and gotten even more cute!

    We met up with the whole family at the State Capital Building in Salem. I had been eying the building for a while and needed the perfect family to pull off the photo I had in mind. I am SO excited they were willing to try my crazy ideas.

    But first here are a few of Mr. Sparkly eyes him self.

    Just look at thoes eyes, and that drooly smile. I just adore this little guy.

    They are all so cute together.

    Like any 6 month old every thing goes in the mouth, I remember those teething days with my girl. It was nice of him to pick a teething toy that matched his eyes though perfectly. :)

    I absolutly love doing this shot with all my 6 monthers. I love showing how truely little they still are compaired to mommy and daddy. Baby J of course had to switch it up and make it his own with the cool shades and too good for the camera look. I love it!

    I am not sure if it was the chair or what but he looks like such a big boy here.

    and this my friends is why I just had to talk them into this location for our session. I have seen the big quotes on the state capital building before but just a few weeks ago I noticed this little corner. Really it is part of a bigger quotation and I had to photoshop out a few bits of other words but I had a vision I knew it would turn out fun!

    Thanks for inviting me to spend time with your awesome family again guys, and especially for putting up with me while I got to get that vision a reality. Baby J is just beautiful and I can not wait to see how he grows even more! I will have the rest of the set for you very soon! And because with all the card designing around here I am already in a festive mood I have a brand new comment challenge. J and V if you can get 30 people to comment on this post I will throw in a set of 25 flat holiday cards on me! You choose the image and design, all you have to do is show off your little man!

    The “B” family a modern day “Brady Bunch”

    You might recognize the beautiful blond in the below photo. Miss Makenzie is one of my class of 2009 senior reps, and I was lucky enough to spend some time with her entire family this last week.

    The B family reminds me of a modern day “Brady Bunch”. Full of individuals for sure, but such fun as a big group. They were up for all my crazy ideas, you have to love that!

    I am thinking the kids had no idea what to expect, but we tried to make it fun!

    We did some JUMPING…

    And of course being teens & pre-teens we had to rock out a little.

    We also did some individual shots of the kids. They were all such good sports for me.

    I was told certain family members *cough* Canada boys *cough* don’t like to smile. So of course I had to work my magic. You have no idea of the shenanigans going on behind the camera to get these smiles.

    Such a beautiful family!

    H I had a great time meeting ever last one of your family members! Thanks making the evening fun and being into my crazy ideas. I can not wait to show you all the rest very soon!
