    Adored Portland Wedding Vendor

Not too long ago I was invited to be listed as a vendor with the fantastic local blog/website Portland Style Unveiled.

For me it was a privilege, the other vendors listed are some of (in my opinion) the best in the business locally. I just adore their blog and all around website. To all my 2010 brides, this site is a fantastic resource for planning a Portland wedding!Click the link above and take a look around. You will see little ‘ol me listed under photographers now!

It’s still summer… but I am dreaming about the fall!

    fallspecial

It is August, it is still summer I know, but my brain is thinking FALL! I love the fall, the colors, the hats,  the smells, the crisp sweater weather, I love it all! Yumm pumpkin pie… drool.

Another thing that has me dreaming of the fall is my calender. September, October & early November are typically my busy times for kids & family photos. All of you lovely folks want photos for gifts & holiday cards. I am starting to get calls now (I know it is summer but people plan ahead!) for fall dates and they are starting to fill up fast. I am half booked for September & October already, and I usually keep my November dates for rain reschedules & holiday printing deadlines.

So lovely blog readers, if you would like some beautiful family photos or kiddo pics call or email me now to reserve your spot. Once I am full I would hate to turn some of my regular clients away. Remember repeat clients get session fee discounts and referal credits. :)

    Call or email me asap!

    samples & examples wedding edition

Not too long back I posted a little walk through of my coffee table books & canvases I provide for portrait clients. It was really helpful for a few folks looking at their options and helped me point people to all the information in one place. Today I want to do the same for my wedding clients. While the canvases are exactly the same, the book & album options are a bit different for wedding clients.

For wedding clients I offer two album options. Each beautifully display the images from your special day in your own unique way. Each book is custom crafted by me, and edited with the client to make sure it perfect before it goes to print. These books are heirlooms and I take great pride in them. As a graphic designer as well as photographer album making is one of my favorite parts of the wedding process.

Here are the two book options I offer.

Both books are printed on archival quality paper and hand bound for quality. Both Books will last a lifetime and for generations to come, it just depends on the style you like as what option works for each couple.

    • The Italian Leather Storybook: This would be my top shelf option, so beautiful! Each page is printed on true photo paper and hand bound in a dry binding process to ensure durability and stunning results. There are two big differences with this book. The first would be the cover. This book comes with a 100% full grain leather cover that feels amazing, it is very soft the luxurious. The leather comes in 7 different color options and all are stunning. The second big difference is the thickness of the page. Each page is 2millimeters thick, like a child’s board book.  Very sturdy and durable.  I have been toting around my sample book to countless homes and coffee shops for almost 2 years now and it still looks amazing. The pages lay flat to display stunning full spreads. Every thing about this book is top shelf and beautiful.

    • The Coffee Table Book: This book is also a beautiful way to display your wedding photos for generations to come. The pages, like in the Italian leather book, are custom designed and printed on professional archival quality paper. Though in this book the images are press printed, not printed on photo paper. What that means is the the pages feel more like a coffee table book or magazine than a board book. The pages are sturdy, but thinner than the other option. The pages general do not lay flat again more like a coffee table book. One fun thing about this book is the cover. The cover is 100% completely custom designed for me, a great way to include a favorite photo. I love these books, they are very modern and really truly fun to put together.

Here are some photos of the books. *please keep in mind I am not a product photographer* :)

    bothpages side by side

Above you have both books side by side. On the left the Coffee Table Book, and the Italian Leather Story Book on the right. You will notice the covers are very different with the photo cover vs the full grain leather on the right. The photos below are the first few pages of each books. The Coffee Table book opens up to a single page, while the story book opens up to a full spread. You will also notice the story book lays flat on it’s own, while I needed a small cup to hold down the page of the coffee table book.

    bothstacked

Here you have the difference in the spines. Keep in mind my Coffee Table samples is almost twice as many pages as my Storybook samples, so if they were equal the leather one would be much thicker. Both spines are very neat and clean. Both binding are beautifully done.

    coffeetablebook

All of these photos are of the Coffee Table Book, I wanted to show the weight of the page. You can see it is not straight, it bends a bit when held up. Still very sturdy, and professionally printed for lifetime use. The spine is custom printed with the names of the couple and date of their wedding. Another neat option of this book is we can either do square corners or rounded corners for the pages. Personally I prefer the rounded. :)

    StoryBook

And here we have the Story Book, I wanted to show the detail of the leather. I can not stress enough how beautifully soft and subtle it feels. I love it! I also wanted to show the difference in thickness of the pages. The pages of this book are thick and sturdy enough to stand up on their own.

So there you have it! Nothing can really do justice to seeing the books in person, I am happy to come show people samples when ever. I just knew a few of my out of town couples & their family members wanted a peek so I hope this helps! Please feel free to call or email me any time with additional questions!
