I love it when I get the opportunity to see kids get bigger and families grow in front of my lens. This session was to celebrate Mr Evan turning one, my what a year it has been! You may remember a certain adorable big sister from her own first year session, and then a sweet little newborn this time last year. These kids are silly, smart, lovely, and always full of energy! Evan & Emery kept me on my toes for this session, made me work for each smile, but it was all worth it!

Kristi thanks for meeting me in town at the studio! It was great to see you all again, and play with the kids again. I can not believe your sweet little newborn baby is now a BOY! It was so fun to see the kids together. As you know I am a lover of all things blog contest. It has taken a few days as my NYE was spent capturing an amazing wedding, and the following day was spent recouping & catching up on sleep & email.

So today it was time to take a look back on 2011. It was such an amazing year. So many people came in front of my lens, and it really was my honor to capture so many weddings, couples, babies and families. Plus quite a few head-shots, non-profit events and even a bridal show.We  added in a studio space early in the year, and even changed logos and looks this year.

It really was just a fantastic year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your love ans support for emily g photography. This business really is an extension of my self and my family, and all of you friends, family and clients help me do what I love. THANK YOU!

Here are my favorites for 2011. I tried to pull at least one photo from each session. I hope I did not miss anyone!

My how the time flies! For his summer time 6 month session we were outdoors in the country, so we picked the studio & some city shots for his 1 year photos. The whole family was great to work with as always. I not going to lie I am sad that his “babies first year” is officially over, these kiddos are always fun to point a camera at!

Gah that little face kills me! Crissie & Dan thanks again for trekking into town for the shoot. It has been a pleasure to work with you all this year. I have loved watching your baby grown and your little girl get bigger too! Can’t wait to do this all again next year! As you know I will have the whole gallery done very soon. After spending an afternoon with them talking about babies & birth I knew I liked them. I was really looking forward to working with them again so when the email came that baby girl had made her appearance I was super excited. Isla was the perfect newborn to work with. She is first of all adorable in every way. Her tiny round nose, her sweet busy feet, her full tummy and chubby legs, gah makes me (almost ha) want to have another baby. She was chill and sleepy for me, and even let out a few little smiles. It was my pleasure to point my camera at the little family

Slightly older than I like for a newborn session, but this sweet little girl was perfect for me. She sleep like an angel, and even smiled for me a bit. You can tell she is very loved and comfy in her new world. Being that she was born so close to the holidays, we had to work in some festive shots. Here mom and dad clearly adore this little lady, it was my pleasure to point my camera at this little family.

Today I have yet another adorable little girl to show off. Lovely little Lael was so good for me. Sweet, goofy (oh that tongue!) and simply adorable. Mom, Dad and grandma were all kind as well. We had a great time chatting in the studio as we captured the little princess in all her glory. She is a stylish little diva with some amazing hats, accessories and outfits, but of course with Mommy working in the clothing industry. This babies little smile and sweet little face could brighten any day. I know Mama is traveling for work right now, so I hope they warm her heart while she is so far away from home!

He was sweet, funny and let me into his little world for our photo playdate. Calder’s entire family was wonderful to work with, and let me into their home like we were old friends. I had a great time with them all. From checking out the garden to walking down to the local store for a snack. It was a lovely morning.

Sometimes it just clicks, and this was one of those times.

 

I met up with the F family to capture baby Arlo in his newborn stage. Being slightly older than my average newborn I did not know how the session would go, but man he was good for me! He is sweet, gentle and over the top adorable. The was also lucky enough to be born into a stunning Portland home filled with good art and fun textures. His room alone made me swoon. :) I am SO looking forward to watching Arlo grow over this year and getting to know his whole family more.
