    i just love new/old friends :)

Growing up a country girl you get to know the kids on your bus rout. It might just be the only way you get to know kids in your area. And yes I say area, not neighborhood. When the houses are all 5 acres plus away from each other it is an area. :) One of the girls my age was a sweet girl named Mindy, she lived not too far away and always had a warm smile. I remember liking Mindy and her sister allot on those long bus rides home. Well thanks to the wonders of the internet and more specifically Facebook I got to reconnect with sweet Mindy.  Mindy has a wonderful husband, (who is an amazing kitchen designer) and two over the top adorable little ones. Mindy is also UBER crafty. No joke, you can see her cute crafty blog here, her etsy shop here, her candle shop here, and to top it off her twilight inspired etsy shop here. Seriously click the links she is amazing, we have quite a few Boboloo items in house, burp rags, candles, the most amazing MAX suite you have ever seen. We just spent an afternoon with her homemade play-dough, the stuff rocks.:)

Anyway… Mindy and her adorable family came over for a BBQ this past weekend and we took the opportunity to do some family & kids photos. We shot in a few spots around our home, here are a few of my favorites so far:

Griffin & Reiley are so cute. I just wanted to eat them up.

Such loving brother & sister too. :)

Griffin was adorable, and so sweet. He and my redhead had a blast playing. I loved watching them together thinking one day my Griffin will be this big. I love this set, such a “boy” he just had to go out and find a stick first thing. I am pretty sure this one was a magic want, cant you tell.

sweet baby Riley, she has some sparkly eyes like her mama.

and the whole family! They were such sports sitting in this soggy field. Mindy & Charles you are both adorable too!

I love this one the most I think, everyone just piled up and sweet.

Griffin  has some sparkly eyes of his own too!

and Reilly’s sweet smile, gah how could you ever say no to that face!

and a typical almost 2 year old, one second she is happy, the next she was D.O.N.E. only a mom could love that last photo, the sweet little pig tales peeking out over the sad face.

Mindy & Charles thank you both for your generosity over the past year. I am so excited we finally got our families together! I hope it was just the first of many times. Your kiddos are simply adorable, I hope you like some of the photos we captured that warm evening. I will have the whole batch ready for you soon as well! Oh and of course I want to rock the blog comment challenge as well. If you can get 25 people to comment on this post you will revive a mini brag book on me. :) So leave some love people. :)

    Matt & Oralea: Love

Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with Matt & Oralea. As I do with all my wedding couples we were out and about in Portland to shoot some engagement photos. I think it is really important to do these sessions for a few reasons. One they are fun, we usually tromp around and spend most of the time chatting and getting to know each other. Another reason is it is fun to make beautiful images with out the stress and rush of a wedding. I always love doing these engagement sessions, and Matt & Oralea were no exception. This adorable couple was up from San Francisco to do wedding errands so we took advantage of some beautiful Oregon weather and hit the industrial east side. I loved that they were up for anything. Oralea just had one request , that we come away with at least 5 good photos. Well I think we got allot more than that. :)

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Oralea’s rings are just beautiful, designed by an artisan in San Francisco.

The industrial east side has some wonderful spots to shoot, I love this run down old building.

During our session we talked a lot about the wedding, DJs, dancing, food, cupcakes. Oh how I love cupcakes, I am excited these two share my love. :)

We also share a love old buildings with ivy, as Matt said it is “very Portland”.

Oh! and we celebrated national train day apparently, did you know?! After Matt informed me we just had to incorporate the local trains into our session.

and the train tracks of course.

    :)

After we were done with the trains and old buildings we hit the east side esplanade. Sunset on the river is beautiful, and even better with an adorable couple to capture.

Matt & Oralea thanks again for meeting up with me last weekend. I had a great time with the two of you! I am very much looking forward to your wedding in just a few weeks! I would also love to offer you a little blog challenge. If you can get 25 people to comment on this post I will throw in an 11×14 of your choice on the house. :)

    super ella

This past week I had the pleasure of meeting the adorable miss Ella. A session with her was a gift to her mama from some lovely old friends of mine. I have been looking forward to meeting the little lady for a while now. Let me tell you, while small & pretty new to this world, this little lady completely stole my heart. Beautiful, spunky & sweet this little girl was a joy to capture.

Here are a few of my favorites from out session together.

When I arrived miss Ella was awake and ready to play. I usually like my newborns sleepy but with those beautiful eyes I was happy I got to capture her baby blues!

after a little playing Ella needed a diaper change. Clearly she is set on being a super hero when she grows up with a pose like this!

after a clean diaper, a little super hero work, and mama’s milk Ella was ready to snooze for me. And such a sweet sleeping baby she is! I loved every little bit of her, from her curl-hawk to her toes. :)

sweet sleepy baby even gave me some smiles.

once she was out she was out! I think little miss Ella likes sleeping in the sun.

clearly she also loved my new red blanket. Just look at that smile. :)

Ella also loves her beautiful mama Melissa. I have to agree, she is pretty wonderful.

and daddy too of course. The family is in the middle of a construction project these days so daddy’s got some hard working hands. I just loved the contrast of her soft skin in them.

the whole family was just wonderful to hang out with.

and one last one of the new family. Ella clearly has it made don’t you think?!

Melissa thanks for having me out to capture your darling little girl. I just loved meeting all 3 of you! I hope you like your peek. I will have the whole set soon! Melissa I would also love to offer you a little blog challenge. If you can get 25 people to comment on this little post I will throw in a cute little wallet brag book on me. Perfect for showing off a cute little baby when you go back to work. :) So leave some love folks. :)
