Doing some final editing on the super fun Anna & Matt’s wedding album this week and thought I would throw together a slide show for the blog.
To say this wedding was fun would be a great understatement.
Anna & Matt were married at the beautiful Oregon Gardens in Silverton. Despite some crazy rain, these two were hard core and had an amazing wedding. You can see another sneak peak post here & here

As I have been touting for weeks I would announce the Giving is Awesome winner Christmas Eve.
Um Christmas Eve was yesterday…
Well as it turns out moving on a Saturday, and hosting 20+ family members on a Thursday for Christmas eve is a pretty hard task! Anyway I am back online tonight and ready to announce!

Katie Gentry and her daughter Maggie (nominated by the lovely Candyce Renols)
Katie is a single mother working several part time jobs while putting her self though school at Portland State University (my alma matter, go Vikings!). Katie’s story tugged at my heart for many reasons, and hit very close to home, I can not wait to meet her and her sweet little girl.
Here is what Candyce had to say about her:
“Katie and Maggie are two of the most generous people I know. Katie is always there to help others (she is an accomplished carpenter too) and Maggie is always giving her friends and strangers gifts of her drawings and her sweet smile. Katie has a deep commitment to serving her community and we’ll be happy when she is fully employed doing what she loves. A family picture would brighten Katie and Maggie’s life as they work to put their lives together after Katie has finished school. Katie and Maggie’s family lives outside of Portland and family pictures would help them feel closer to those they love too.”

Happy Holidays dear blog readers! It has been a bit busy around here at casa de G these days. Impending baby (2 months and counting!) moving (yes we are the crazy people that move the weekend before Christmas), and wrapping up of all the holiday details. It has been an insane month December of 2009, but one of the bright spots has to be my wonderful clients. You all rock!
One lovely new couple added to the emily g list would be the adorable Matt & Megan. These two are utterly adorable. I am so excited to share this particular sneak peek. This session was originally planned for the weekend of the “Arctic Blast ’09″ and had to be rescheduled as they live in Seattle and did not want to risk the drive understandably. Once we all finally got in the same place at the same time we lucked into a random clearing in weather & some beautiful winter light! Matt & Megan are full of love & perfect to work with. No shortage of cuteness between these two! I had a hard time narrowing down list for the sneak peek!

Megan loves the holidays so we tried to work in some of the lovely downtown decor.

Matt was such a great sport as well. It is always awkward to meet someone for the first time in front of the camera, but he was great! Matt you were a natural!
We also tried to make good use of the rainy weather, I loved these reflections!

Matt & Megan you two are over the top adorable. I can not wait to shoot your wedding this next summer! I had a lovely time with you last weekend, I hope your drive back north was mellow and safe! As we all know from the ridicules news coverage (Arctic Blast 2009 anyone?) it is COLD in the great North-West these days.
I have been keeping warm these days with a few of my favorite things, hot coco, wool socks, and pretty summer wedding photos. I came across a few the other day and just had to throw together a little slideshow. Ahhh Kelsey & Stephan put on a lovely wedding right. Held at the stunning De Armonde Garden Estate, one of my all time favorite venues, beautiful flowers by Ink & Peat, and delicious food by The Art of Catering. Mad props again to my amazing second shooter for the day Kacy.

Remember the lovely and adorable Katie & Charlotte? Well last Friday they got all dolled up and made it official!
It was my pleasure and an honor to capture their expression of love & some images of the big day. It was COLD one for sure, but we did not mind at all. The love between these two warmed us all up, and we had a great time running around downtown Portland getting some great images! Special thanks to the wonderful Maricar for being my right hand woman for the day. Waddling around downtown Portland at 7 months prego would not have been possible with out her!
Charlotte & Katie got ready at the amazing & elegant Hotel de Luxe in NW Portland, we shot downtown, and then did some photos at the ceremony site of the stunning Armory & Gerding Theatre. These two are absolutely wonderful to work with, and just spend time in general. When the couple is this beautiful, and the settings are this amazing, smiles all around!

I also loved Charlotte & Katie’s rings, both complimentary and different.
And here are our beautiful brides. Not the typical first photo together, but when you walk out side to some crazy firetrucks in front of the hotel you have to use it! Quite an exciting start to the evening!

Once we got out of the cold & into the warmth of the beautiful theatre we got a chance to do some more around the venue. Such an amazing space!
So beautiful, so in love, it is almost unfair how lovely these two ladies are.
we also giggled, a lot.
The staff of the Armory were wonderful to work with. They let us go up to the very top floor of the building even to take advantage of the stunning architecture!

the ceremony was elegant, beautiful, short & sweet. Perfect for these two.
the place was beautifully decorated, from the cupcake display…
to the table & bar details. It was all just beautiful.
the reception was very intimate and chill. Again perfect for our couple.
