Bodhi’s pack (sara & josh love session)

I have known Sara & Josh a few years now. Sara is a old and dear friend of my beloved sister in law, she and josh have all way been fun to see around parties & camping trips. Even hanging out with them as guest at one of the weddings I shot this summer!

They are the kind of couple that are just easy to hang out with, and fun to be around. When Sara contacted me earlier in the year about shooting her wedding I was overjoyed. Knowing these two, I knew the wedding was going to be an amazing event.

They will be getting married this June at a beautiful summer camp just up the Columbia River Gorge, it will be a beautiful setting and location! To give them a little something different for their engagement photos we trekked into downtown Portland for this session.  Even though both were a little hesitant to do the session at first, we had a great time running around downtown. Even their adorable (and huge!) dog Bohdi got in on some of the photo action.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Sara & Josh both have sparkly blue eyes & warm smiles.

Sara & Josh have been together for a long time. How many years has it been, like 7? These two are so lovely together. It is always fun to work with a couple who is 100% comfortable with each other and just so good together.

    SJlove-105

Check out the whole family here. Bhodi is so adorable. He is some kind of lab mix, but by the size I believe the guess is his mix is Great Dane. Though a little attached to his people he is a big huge love.  It will be fun to see how big he gets, oh yes he is what only 10 months old right now. Lover boy is going to be massive.

this one might be my absolute favorite from the day. We lucked into some amazing afternoon light.

After running around downtown I talked Sara & Josh into heading into a parking lot with me. Not the most traditional place for a session I know, but I just had  few ideas I wanted to try out. They were pretty rad to accommodate my crazy ideas!

Thank goodness no cars decided to make it up to the top of the structure for these! I loved all the bright yellows.

Beautiful city + beautiful couple = happy emily

    SJlove-112

We so lucked out with the weather on Sunday. The skies were perfect!

    SJlove-113

and one last one of our lovely couple. Such a perfect fit these two.

Sara & Josh thanks for hanging out with me on sunday, even if you did have to drag your selves out for it. I think we got some really fun stuff, and I know this puts your minds at ease for the big day! You two are awesome, I can wait to show you the rest! And of course I even have a little blog challenge for you. If you can get 3o people to comment on this post I will give you a 11×14 wall print on me. So leave some love people. :) Much more for the two of you very soon!

I have the best clients ever…

You hear that? Yeah that is the sound of me gloating. Yeah nah nah nah my clients are awesome and I am not afraid to rub it in.

I have been working with this family for a few years now and like a fine wine or a really spicy pickle they just keep getting better! From belly, to newborn, to chubby baby, to little dude Mr. Madden continues to get even more fun to work with, and his parents are pretty awesome too. For this years holiday session they left it up to me to choose a spot that would work. We had already done home & a natural setting, so for this one we went more edgy and urban. I LOVE it when clients just trust me to run with an idea! Amber did a great job dressing the family & showed up looking amazing as usual. It is great when an idea comes together. :)

They were also super troopers that totally braved some crazy wind and sporadic rain. We were crossing our fingers all day, but it worked out beautifully.

So enough of my yapping eh, here are a few of my favorites so far:

    hirschpeeking-101

    they are so dang cute!

    hirschpeeking-107

and Mr. M has gotten even cute. It is just ridiculous how adorable he is right.

    hirschpeeking-113

and his parents are pretty  nice to look at too. ;)

    hirschpeeking-102

I love how Mr. M is a perfect mix of handsome daddy & beautiful mama here.

    hirschpeeking-103

check out those good looking peeps

    hirschpeeking-105

and this one might be my absolute FAV. It is like they are having their own little contest to see who can scrunch their nose the most. :D Anyone who knows Amber knows that when her nose is all scrunched up it means she is happy, I love that Madden is the same way.

    hirschpeeking-106 BW

he he he I could eat his little nose, so cute!

    hirschpeeking-109

and one last set of the dashing little Mr. Madden. Oh I just love this kid!

Amber & Greg thanks for another year of radness! You guys are such troopers. I hope you love the peek. Much more in the whole gallery soon!

this post cost me exactly one cookie

We don’t call it bribing in our house, we call it “incentives” lol.

While backing up files this week I realized that I had absolutely zero images of my little lady in my November 2009 file. Yikes! The situation had to be fixed immediately. So the kiddo and I headed out into the bluster sunday morning armed with my camera & her fashion sense.

Here are a few of my favs:

    fenceset

yeah, she is pretty cute. I am not bias at all.

    costmeacookie-102

    This one is daddy’s favorite.

    rockstarset

this one was art directed by the redhead. She told me this was her “rock n roll” move.

    costmeacookie-107

and this would be my favorite. Pure joy here. :)

    thatfaceset

ok maybe I take it back, maybe one of these is my favorite… Her goofy smile kills me.

    costmeacookie-111

my heart, it melted into a tiny puddle with this one.

so there you have it. My kid is a goofy, goofy cheese ball, no idea where she gets it from. :)

    beautiful baby banks

I don’t think there is anything more complimentary than being given as a gift.

You should remember the super adorable D family from just a few months back. Well Amy had a good friend about to have her own little one and thought a emily g gift certificate was in order. I was so excited to hear the news that my littlest client was born, and tried to wait patiently for the call. Really I tried! When I finally heard from Erica I was over joyed to meet the little guy! By this time he was 5 weeks old and a little more alert than your typical newborn, but really he was a great little model for me.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

    babyfeetset

just look at those tiny toes and sparkly eyes. Just adorable!

    bankspeeking-100

and even a smile, I am pretty sure this one was for daddy. Or it could have been he was about to pee on me, who knows!

    bankspeeking-103

one thing Erica and I had in common is the love for the bare baby booty! Banks you may hate me when you are 16, but really I just had to.

    bankspeeking-104

after a little while the little dude tuckered out.

    bankspeeking-105

I just loved his perfect little mouth and button nose. :)

    bankspeeking-106

check him out all kicked back and relaxing. Such an angel boy.

    bankspeeking-107

he loves his hands by his face this one. Such a perfect little poser this one!

    BWfamilyset

and of course I just had to wrangle mom & dad into the session as well! Check out how cute the entire family is.

    bankspeeking-108

and one last image from our session. Possibly my favorite. I love that little dude is the center of their universe, as it should be right now! This child is clearly loved.

Erica thanks again for having me out to your lovely home to meet your little dude. He is seriously adorable! I so enjoyed meeting all of you, and thanks again HUGE for including me in the Starbucks run. Dad you are a life saver!!! I will have much more for you to see very soon. I hope you enjoyed the little peek. And of course for all my new clients I would love to offer you a comment challenge. If you can get 30 people to comment on this little blog post I will hook you two up with 2 mini wallet brag books. Perfect for showing off a certain angel boy! So leave some love people. :)
