art, love & engagement photos (kelsey & stephan sneak peek)

    Kelsey & Stephen rock.

When Kelsey first contacted me I asked her to tell me about herself and her wedding. She told me that she and Stephan were both artists, very laid back and will be getting married at the beautiful Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro later this summer. It all sounded wonderful, by the time we finally got together to go over album samples and chat I knew I had to shoot their wedding. I am soo looking forward to it!

We had a great time in inner SE Portland at their engagement session last week. Here are some of my favorites so far:

Check out Stephan’s beautiful work. My photos do not do it justice. He also showed me a few more, he is so talented!

The loft is still under construction as you can tell, we took the opportunity to get some really different images inside.

We also found some fun grungy buildings in the neighborhood to use.

The neighborhood is in the produce district so we found lots of great colors and textures to shoot. They are so sweet together.

You have to love the heart graffiti right! Perfect for these two love birds.

This one might be my favorite of the set. Kelsey just fit so perfectly all snuggled up next to Stephan.

As the sun started to set we headed up to the roof of Stephan’s building. I have to admit the rickety old staircase scared the crap out of me. I was not sure if it was going to be worth it, but then we reached the top at it was amazing! The perfect sunset over the city.

So worth the hike up the scary stairs.

They are so sweet together, and so fun!

and I had to post this last one, it is really more of a blooper, but you have to love the real un-posed laughter. We had so much fun!

Kelsey & Stephan I had a wonderful time tromping around the city with you. Thanks again for sharing the loft with me and being up for anything. I hope you are as happy with the set as I am. I will have the while galery for you very soon. And of course I could not be more excited about your wedding day! Like all my new clients I would love to offer you a little comment challenge. If you can get 25 people to comment on this blog post I will hook you up with an 11×14 wall print of your choice! So get commenting kids.

    FOUR! (just in time)

Happy Birthday to my sweet, lovely, kind, sassy, infuriating, wicked smart, hilarious, goofy, perfectly imperfect, little girl.

We had a grand day of delicious food, shoe shopping, zoo animals, toy stores, visits with friends and pajama-movie parties.

We are a little tuckered out, but I could not let the day pass with out posting some birthday love for my little diva on the blog.

Here are a few snaps from our ZOO visit this afternoon.

    bdaydivaset

    such a goofy girl.

We saw some super cool things at the Zoo, including the brand new baby elephant! He was so very cute. We even brought one of the while beasts you see above home. :)

    usset

and a rare appearance of the rarest of all beasts, the Mommy/Redhead photo! Even if she is being grumpy and refusing to smile, and it is not so flattering of me, having a photo of the two of us is so nice. :)

We still have a few social events tomorrow and then the big PARTY on Saturday. It is going to be quite the long weekend, I am sure I will be posting more, but for now just a bit of birthday love. You are my favorite person in the whole world honey, and I would not change anything about you for the world.

sarah & john david sneak peek part 1

Sarah and John David are nothing short of fantastic! You will remember them from their super fun engagement session a little while back. Well last weekend I had the honor of capturing their wedding in Aloha Oregon. The big event was beautiful and lots of fun. We had a great time shooting away, and of course I can not pack it into one sneak peek. So here is the first of the lot.  Enjoy!

    getting ready her

Sarah had a whole tribe of wonderful women helping her getting ready. I had such a blast with them!

    flowers

Leah at Sweet Nellie’s Flowers did an amazing job with the flowers, truly outdid her self with this bouquet!

I was also very lucky to have the lovely and talented Jenny as my second shooter for the day. She did a great job of catching John David getting ready.

    THE DRESS

Sarah’s dress was stunning, if I remember correctly the details were hand stitched by a family member. Beautiful!

    walkingawayforest

for the portraits we found s perfect local part with some beautiful wooded paths.  The light in the trees was almost magical, and of course a beautiful couple right in the middle of it all was just over the top perfect to shoot.

    partyonpath

the whole wedding party was super fun, we had a great time roaming around the park and finding spots to take photos.

    couplefieldgoodness

We also found a perfect little field outside the church. Big love to Sarah & JD for braving the grass! I love it when people are willing to go into the thick of it for a good photo! You two rock!

I have many, many more to show, another peek is in order for sure. We still have the ceremony and reception to get to!

Sarah and John David I had a fabulous time with the two of you. Thank you again for having me out to be a part of your special day. I wish you two nothing but happiness in your life together. I will have another peek for you soon, and the whole set as well!

    Happy Father’s Day!

I am an extremely luck girl, true story.

I have an amazing job I adore, fantastic clients, a rocken almost 4 year old that rocks my world, and a freaking fantastic hubby. It’s Father’s day so I asked this sweet man what he would like for his day, I threw out some options. A BBQ? Frisbee golf? A trip to Powells? A hike in the gorge? I gave him any choice, and you know what he chose?

    This:

    fathersdayconstruction-1

This is our soon to be new kitchen. The kitchen and house remodel has been going on for a while, and you would think he would want a day off? But no, last night he was out there late finishing up our beautiful kitchen flooring, and today he and my father are installing the cabinets! He is the best right? I mean know he loves all this stuff, it is fun, but I am sure he would have also enjoyed a day off and a little pampering.

So here’s to you baby, to my partner in crime and the best daddy a little red head could ask for. You are amazing, and we love you to bits. Happy Fathers Day. :)

And a very happy fathers day to you all too! All my lovely baby clients this year celebrating their first fathers day, and those who are veterans! I hope it is filled with love and joy!
