I must admit, I love weddings, I am that girl.
When I am not capturing them with my camera I love reading about them online too! I have a few wedding blogs I regularly stalk but one of my favorite trendy wedding blogs is The Wedding Chicks. These ladies are a group of wedding industry stars and real life brides. Their posts are always fun and full of lots of trendy goodness. Their mission is to connect wedding professionals with real brides, and they do it, with lots of good info on the way. I check out their site somewhat regularly to see where the trends are and to just check out the inspiration, so when I was asked to be on their list of “elite wedding vendors” I jumped at the chance.
So check them out!

And if you look to the far right click on the “Oregon” page so see my little listing.

Once again I could not possibly combine all the photos I want to show off from Laura & Michel’s winter wedding into one blog post. I peeked one quick one already here. I had an amazing time with these two, and I think the photos show it! Laura & Michael got married in literally the biggest snow storm of the last 40 years. When I talked to the lovely bride the day of the wedding I thought for sure she was going to cancel but she was not only still game, but excited about shooting in the snow! I was excited to say the least. Or as Michael would say I was not “weak sauce” by making the big day.
Here are a few of my favorite from the first part of the big day:

Laura our beautiful bride

I loved the detail on her dress!

Michael our dashing groom.

so lovely together! and so daring in all that snow!

Have I mentioned how awesome they are for heading out in their full gear in the snow?

I always get the “wedding shoes” but these were too great not to capture.

see I was not the only one cracking up the whole time, I just adore these two.

See what I mean, that was one long post and we have not even gotten to the actual wedding yet! Another post soon to come. We are just thawing out here and I am catching up all around. I just had to show you some of these. I will be posting the ceremony and reception bits soon. Please leave a comment on this post if you want to see the whole gallery when it is ready.
Laura and Michael thanks again for being up for anything! I wish you nothing but the best, more to come!

As promised I am posting for the “Giving is Awesome” outcomes tonight. I said I would post on Christmas eve, and with 5 mins to go it is still technically Christmas Eve! So I better write fast!
Drum roll please…
After many heart tugging nominations I have made a decision and the winner is… Robin Kandel!
Robin was nominated by her supervisor and friend Liv. (who has a $200 print credit coming her way.) Both Robin & Liv work at an amazing local organization Bradley Angle House. Bradley Angle provides emergency shelter for healing to women and children escaping domestic violence, an important issue close to my heart.
Liv’s nomination was beautiful, and brought a tear to my eye, I just knew as soon as I read it I wanted to give back to this family. There are many details I am not sure are appropriate to share in such a public place, but I am very much looking forward to meeting this strong woman and her family!
Here is a little of what Liv wrote in her nomination:
“Robin works hard... She could easily take her years of experience, education and skills elsewhere and make way more money. But she remains committed to help women fleeing domestic violence and helping them towards their road to recovery. I know she and her family struggle to make ends meet, let alone have “extra money” to spend on some thing like this. I think this would be an amazing gift to give back to someone who has given so much of herself to help others.”
Robin and her family will receive a photo session, full proof set, custom designed coffee table book of images and a CD with personal printing rights all on the house.
I want to thank everyone who nominated families this year. I had a terrible time choosing, but I had to go with my heart on this one.
To all of you now, a very Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
