    Andy and Asumi: beautiful intimate downtown wedding {wedding sneak peek}

When Andy’s mom called me a few short weeks ago something inside me said “land this wedding”. From the first time we spoke I was excited about Andy & Asumi’s big day. The wedding was very small (not over 30 people) and intimate, but incredibly classy and modern. The groom’s family was traveling from Medford (Southern Oregon), and the Bride’s family was coming all the way from Japan. One reason I love weddings is they are all about the joining of two families, and the joining of these two was simply beautiful to be a part of.

We started the day at Hotel 50 in downtown Portland. Here are a few of my favorite “getting ready” shots so far:

After everyone was ready to go I hopped in the limo with Asumi and her parents to go to the church. She was so calm! I was impressed.

The Ceremony was beautiful and the little church was very charming.

After the ceremony we did some family and bridal party shots. I try and make them fun :)

And then back into the limo to head back to the west side for the reception luncheon.

This absolutely cracks me up. Andy and his niece went straight for the cell phones. They were pretty funny teasing each other.

A few more “couple only” shots in the beautiful Pearl District in Portland.

The reception was held at the Sungari Pearl Restaurant, DELISH! What a great place for a small party.

I always love to find creative ways to do the ring shots and the restaurant had tons of opportunities.

The whole family seemed so happy about this great couple tying the not. Every relaxed and had a great time just talking to eachtoehr. It was a very laid back reception luncheon, I had a great time just snapping away.

Andy, Asumi & Family thank you again for asking me to be a part of your big day. I had a great time meeting all of you and can not wait to show you all the rest of the photos. I hope your travels home all went well, however long the journey was.  If you area friend or family reading this please leave a comment on this post so I can email you the password to the whole gallery when it is ready.

    Scott & Danielle part 2

As promised I am back to provide another peek into Scott & Danielle’s wedding. It was truly an amazing day to be part of. As I said before the beautiful couple decided to do the bulk of the couple and group photos ahead of time so we had lots of time to be creative. We covered those in the first post so I am going to get right to the ceremony.

Here is our stunning bride about to make the trek down the isle.

The ceremony was beautiful, short but oh so very sweet.  Our groom even had the string quartet learn a special song for the bride to walk down the isle to. It was a very well kept secret and so sweet.

The Brookside Inn provided a stunning backdrop with this amazing weeping willow by the pond.

Off to the reception and most importantly the party!

The catering was provided by Viola Catering, delicious! and super yummy cupcakes from Cupcake Jones. But to be honest the real hit of the night was the band. A local Portland Funk band The Excellent Gentlemen were fantastic!

Even I was shaking it a little bit while shooting, they were just great.

There was also a beautiful moment when the Groom’s brother in law and his father sang a few songs from Costa Rica. It was well after dark so the mood for a beautiful Spanish slow song was perfect.

The entire day was just beautiful, I had a wonderful time capturing it all.

Scott & Danielle, thanks again for choosing me to be part of your day. I can not wait to show you the entire set. Again any friends and family interesting in seeing the full set when it is done please leave a comment below and I will email out the password when it is all ready.

    my farm girl

The whole emily g family went out to the Clackamas County Fair a few weeks ago and we had a blast. This summer I have really tried hard to get some fun photos of my kiddo doing her thing, more snap shots really. She (ok and I) tend to go into portrait mode when I have the big camera and lenses out. So this summer I have taken out the “little camera” and left the “big camera” I use for client sessions at home. We got some fun ones at the fair.

She was very into the tractors, witch made her father oh so proud.

the baby cows were a hit too. Even though the barn was super dark i had to get her petting the cow.

but the biggest hit were the baby pigs. She wanted to stay and watch them for ever. Even the promise of more rides or cotton candy did not move her. It was so cute. They were very sweet, but man nursing one baby was hard, I can not imagine 10+! Many props to mama pig.

Hope you all are enjoying the summer events in the area. Fall will be here faster than we know it. I am already starting to book for holiday sessions! Crazy. If you or your family are going to need photos for the holidays, cards or gift prints let me know. It is time to start planning.

    Happy end of August!
